I have yet to see Black Lightning a part of anything. Has anyone seen him a part of anything or heard anything about Outsiders?

It would be ridiculous to launch Black Lightning and Static together at the same time. DC is striking for diversity though, there's no way that they'll leave their original black hero on the bench for too long

I'll be disappointed if he's left out but I agree with Nighthunter.

I'm also sure we'll see an eventual revival of the outsiders and I expect Metamorpho, Geo-force and him there

There are other less interesting characters that are getting their own titles. Mr. Terrific is one of them.

What does it have to do with a discussion on Black Lightning then? -.-

His young black hero who had his own TV series that wasn't incredible ridiculous and happens to have electric powers. If you ask me B Lightning should show up in Static Shock and Shock should mention how he was his idol Black Lightning and wanted to be super-hero

I think they don't want him to be confused with elderly black hero with lightning powers from Batwing comic book.

I was SO excited when I saw the solicit for Batwing #3, I thought it was Black Lightning. So sad when I actually read the solicit.

I hope that they cancel Mister Terrific and use a more viable hero, like Black Lightning. Otherwise we might have to wait until the next time DC revives the Outsiders.

Edit: Now that I think about it, it is doubtful that he would get an ongoing comic. His powers are too similar to Static Shock's powers. DC wouldn't publish both at the same time.

I know this topic is kind of old now that BL is in the New 52, but I think he should have gotten a new name, similar to Captain Marvel becoming Shazam. Black Lightning is not appropriate in this day and age, and having black colored lightning bolts is a stupid way of justifying it. They should call him Thunderbolt or something to that degree.

@martianmanhunterisbetterthancy: I like his name. But Thunderbolt is horribly generic. If they can't think of something better his name should be left alone.
