How can you not love this.
Again let's get this out of the way. I love this hero and these books. It does come off as a little Blaxploitation but let's not loose sight of what we have here. This book is a self-titled comic featuring a Black Superhero at a time when it was unheard off. Black Lightning is a college educated Olympic level athlete who comes back to the slums of Metropolis to do good and later becomes the Black Lightning.
This Issue continues with a more in depth origin of Black Lightning and and pick up at the High Noon feeling that was left off in the last issue. This Comic was really filled with action and a couple plot twists that involve Black Lightning into more than he ever expected when he first dawned his costume. This is a great issue dealing with all the action and back story smoothly. It also really absorbs itself in the DC Universe with out it being to cumbersome. There are several characters that I did not expect to see in only the second issue of a Black Lightning comic but they are not overwhelming the main hero. The Art is also fantastic. I highly recommend picking this piece of comic history up. I gave it four stars.
