    Short summary describing this issue.

No recent wiki edits to this page.

The Black Condor and Ned Smith investigate a fire in the New Jersey pinelands. While helping to evacuate the wildlife, the Condor is attacked first by a rabid raccoon, and then by a large, hulking creature that appears to be made of molten fire. The creature flees when a tanker truck arrives on the scene.

The tanker truck is actually on-site to find another missing truck from the Solarchem company. The first truck, driven by a driver named Johnson and full of radioactive material, has gone missing. The second truck was sent to find Johnson, and cover up any trace of the first truck.

It ends up that the first truck exploded, with its radioactive material merging the driver Johnson and a nearby grizzly bear into the creature that attacked Condor earlier. The crew from Solarchem are attacked by the creature. Condor arrives on the scene, and the creature establishes a telepathic link with him. The Condor learns of the true nature of the creature, and tries to take the men from Solarchem in custody. The Solarchem company men fight back, and are eventually killed by the creature. The Condor and Smith leave the scene, allowing the creature to freely roam the pinelands.
