Black Canary 11 Review – The Swan Song

Cover A
Cover A is a good cover. You have a Black Canary´s statue with several Black Canaries pulling her down. (I think this statue is homage to a real world statue but I tried to look up but I couldn’t find any similar to this). Colors are really great even with different shades of green, the colors are nice. And even with different Black Canaries some of them have details and even different clothes.
Cover B
There isn’t Cover B on this issue.
Plot
Black Canary is going to save her band from Izak Orato. Which apparently is an ancient being that fought Dinah´s Mother and he needs Dinah because we want to her to use Five Heavens Palm to heal or fix him but Dinah doesn’t want to do it. It´s mention that Izak killed or eat Dinah´s father and he might also killed her mother as well. But the worst Aunt Rena aka White Ninja is probably all long just Izak and he was able to kill Dinah by piercing a Katana through her body when she was vulnerable. But in her last moments of Dinah, Ditto reveals that she was never alone. Which might be explain on next issue.
Art Style
The Art style is great as usual. In this issue there are great panels which make the art team shine their talent. But I can´t say the background characters aren´t that great, they look creepy and almost inhumans.
The Good
Black Canary being a Bad Ass Moment
At beginning, Black Canary single handles Skull Warriors just by herself off scene. But was a great image
Vixen is back
Vixen comes back to assist Black Canary, she doesn’t do much but it´s nice to see Vixen being used again.
It makes you want to pick the next issue
There is lot of things that happens that makes you want to know what happen next or in this case the conclusion of plot threats.
The Bad
Black Canary´s dies
I don’t know where to put this one. Black Canary dies on this issue but it´s obvious that she will coming back on next issue. (So obvious that the next issues is called Lazarus). Plus her death looks alike when Elektra died by the hand but I wonder if Black Canary alike Elektra will gain some ability with her resurrection.
Some characters look very creepy
I think Izak Orato is supposed to be creepy but before that there is a lady that looks very creepy and even some background characters. I hope isn’t all German are creepy and looks alike monsters
