Covert Operation Fail
In the conclusion of this messy vacation, Dinah gets herself tangled with the Ravens and some Kobra´s agents, but she counts with some unnexpected help in the final moments, making sure that the weird soviet satelite doesn´t fall into the wrong hands. Barbara´s reserved a few surprises of her own in this issue, since it´s revealed the true identity of her observer and that she wasn´t the target of the military at all (or at least she fooled them again, putting the heat on Mr. Desmond). As far as this issue goes for fun and entertaining it´s very good, but when it´s about the time travel and the neutrino field thing it´s a total disaster: first of all, this was just a bad idea to explain the Monster of the Lake, secondly I wish there was more aciton involving the Ravens instead of them just strayed in time, hanging out in Pangae, and third why didn´t Dinah went to a little time travel too or even all the Kobra´s agents? This was a poor attempt of Dixon to introduce different ingredients to this story, but it was a fail, in my opinion. Nonetheless it wasn´t enough to stain the beautiful art of Greg Land and the amazing dialogues of Dixon, making this second arc story very good to read. I think there was some good development of the major characters, especially when it comes down to Oracle and her importance to the DC universe (or at least to Gotham).
