    Skipping Ahead

Duane Swierczynski has surprised me with how enjoyable his Birds of Prey have been. He introduced a new character and reintroduced familiar characters with a twist. How does he add onto this new team in issue #5?

    THE GOOD:
This is the issue where the art finally clicked. I really started to liking it in this issue and I really am starting to like the new costumes. I also really like how Jesus Saiz captures emotion of the characters. You really can almost guess how they are feeling and I enjoy that. The story is actually great for an amnesia story. The birds don't remember anything that has happened. Normally I hate these plots, but I think it worked well in this. I also really like how you like all the characters, but the writer creates a secret about the character that makes you think they could betray the team.

    THE BAD:
I don't like amnesia stories and this is kinda that. It's not awful but I just don't really enjoy them having to learn everything again.

    THE VERDICT: 4.5/5 (Amazing)
This version of the Birds of Prey could grown to be my favorite. I though that without a certain writer, this series wouldn't be great but it's been really good and I think that it could rival Gail Simone's. The characters have different personality and it's just fun to see girls kick butt. If you like good comics, this is a fairly good one and I think that people might enjoy this.

Synopsis: The Birds take a day to recover from a crazy mind sweep. What's Good? It's nice that Duane Swiercynski give these characters more personality. Of course, Starling gets the most and it raises some more questions about her. But besides her, Katana actually get some development of her own. She's not coming off crazy by talking to her "husband" in her katana. But then there's Ivy who is still one member that could switch sides at anytime. I mean really, what does she gain from being a part o...

I'm very conflicted on how I feel about this cover. David Finch drew these women with shamefully exploitive body proportions in shameful exploitive poses, and made them take up too much space so he only had room for three of them chosen at random. But the detail in their faces is really nice, and I F***ING LOVE the crazy sprawling architecture in the background. So.... yeah.In the aftermath of the.... whatever the hell happened last issue, we get a ton of nice character exploration. Everyone goe...
