Birds of Prey #12
Cliff Richards does the whole issue and he turns out some great looking work. The character expressions are very clear when looking at the characters. Cliff also draws really good action scenes that really make you pause for a while. The oil rig splash page was just really great to look at. The story continues after last months issue where Poison Ivy took over the team. This new thing that the team is doing is interesting and the conflict coming from that has been very enjoyable. Black Canary, Katana, Starling, Batgirl and Poison ivy are all interesting characters. The ending of the issue was a little shocking and there is a lot of possibilities where the story will go next.
THE BAD:
The pacing of this issue is a little off. We just skip to another time and then we do it again. This won't bug everyone, but it will still be enough to make a few people mad. There are a few panels where things look a little off.
THE VERDICT: 4/5 (Great)
Birds of Prey has been a very good read. When they first announced the characters that would be appearing, they all had a very different background. Duane Swierczynski had done an amazing job at handling these characters and giving them somewhat interesting plots. If you like any of these characters, this is going to be something that you want to read. If you want a good story, then this is also something that you will want to pick up.
