Birds of Prey is BACK!!! with a big (good) bang
The Good
Oh where do I begin? First off the issue starts off with a dramatic sequence that will have you drawn in hook, line, and sinker right off the bat.
The art is KILLER. Ed Benes is on the top of his game. It’s not only him but the whole art team. They give the book a very well flowing, glossy and liquid, beautiful feel. This book is by far the best looking book out of DC this week.
Ends with a good cliffhanger, you want more after it’s over.
And as usual with her work, Gail Simone puts her great wit and one-liners throughout which keeps the book feeling fresh throughout.
The Bad
The only bad thing was the craving for more gnawing at me when I got done. There is straight up nothing bad about this book.
Overall
I’m so happy to see this title back on the shelves. And it feels like it never left. At the same time new readers will be able to jump on with ease, the title brings no hard core baggage along for its new ride on the market. This is fun good quality reading that is deep at the same time. Let’s hope that Simone and Benes stay on this one for a LONG TIME. Do yourself a favor- Buy. This. Book.
