Each week we take a close, hands-on look at cool comic book collectibles. Normally we focus on new items available in stores but every once in a while we like to dip into the 'vault.' This week's pick is from the 2003 line from KINGDOM COME.
I joked about this earlier in the week. This is a collectible from 2003 and I was trying to decide whether or not to open it. Because it's some a cool character and figure, I decided to (and even did a Premium Video for subscribers showing the opening along with some commentary and extra shots).
You can see from the image above that this figure is still in the box and has collected a bit of dust. Looking a little closer, you can see that it's just begging to be taken out of the box.
== TEASER ==It was mainly because it just looks so dang cool. KINGDOM COME was such a great story and the figures in this line were top notch, especially if you consider they're from 2003. I did end up getting just about all the figures in the different waves and they've just been sitting around since.
This figure obviously can't be purchased in regular retail stores but you might find them in comic shops and definitely online. Doing a quick search on ebay turns up a few at reasonable prices, especially when a lot of today's collectible figures are retailing for around twenty bucks.
He may not have a lot of articulation but for a figure like this, you don't really want it. This is something that looks great sitting out on display. When figures have too much articulation, the joints take away from the sculpt and design of the figure. Check out how it looks out of the box.
Let us know what you thought of this selection from the 'vault' and if you'd want to see more out of their packaging. Next week we'll be shifting back towards a more modern selection.
And if you are a subscriber, make sure you check out the video showing the opening along with a video look at the figure.
