Actually, Futurama got cancelled because Fox stopped production and didn't buy anymore episodes. Its ratings were higher then most cartoon comedies but the time slot they had it in conflicted the episode airings, so they just canceled it.

I heard that Cartoon Network wants to buy new episodes for their Adult Swim line up, but that's still in question, for now their releasing 4 movies for sure.

Their decision will most likely be affected by the number of sales of the movies.

Fox screwed up the scheduling. Here on the west coast it kept getting pre-empted by football games. It was also on before prime time. I have no idea why it didn't air right after the Simpsons. In some ways, I appreciated the humor more in Futurama than in the Simpsons. They were also able to do more spoofs. They had a wider door to pretty much let anything go and make fun of whatever they wanted.

I heard the Fox execs didn't like Futurama - maybe because the episodes were expensive to make. As for the scheduling, it was always pre-empted in the East, I wonder if the show was put at the bad time slot so people would lose interest in it or forget about it.

I also heard Comedy Central might do something with Futurama, but I'm not sure what.

I am really tired of Futurama reruns being put on constantly on Adult Swim at that time slot. Something newer should be put there, and maybe there'd be more interest in the other cartoons.

Oh yeah I think it was Comedy Central and not Cartoon Network that were trying to get new episodes.

Yay. I ordered it earlier today.

You wanna hear something really really crazy? I haven't even seen all the episodes. Obviously I missed some of the later ones when Fox kept pulling it. I couldn't keep track of when it was on. I have all the dvds. I'm waiting for that one day that I really need a Futurama fix. I think I have been holding out on watching them because I didn't want to have seen all of them and have nothing to look forward to. Now I can get around to watching them since there's more stuff coming.

Apparently there's an entire episode of "Everybody Loves Hypno-Toad" on the DVD...

I just saw it, it's pretty good IMO. I loved it when they just continuously insulted Fox.

I just got the DVD, and my DVD-player won't play NTSC discs. Now i will have to rip it and burn a playable version.

That would be incredibly cheap and sucky in any other movie, comic or whatever, but in Futurama it would just be perfect.

this might sound sad, but i got addicted to futurama, i literally couldn't asleep unless i fell asleep watching it. i couldn't sit on my computer without it playing in the background. and now there's a movie out... just when i'd started watching the simpsons again, and got over my addiction, they bring out a movie. i can't wait to see it

This movie was incredible. I read on the craptasticly accurate Wikipedia.com that they were starting the next movie with the cast going up to inspect the tear in the universe, and brain slugs attack them or something and take over the world. And I'm sure that they'll have something genius that happens for where Nibbler went when he ate himself out of the universe...... Yay!

Hope, they get the new series done.

Benders Big Score was ten times better than the Simpsons movie. I absolutley love the relationship between Fry and Leela and how they always leave it open ended, just like in the last episode of season 4 (which remains my favorite episode).

I'm currently watching it now.
