A big disappointment even with lowered expectations 0

This will be a review of issues 1-4 of Before Watchmen Silk Spectre. Silk Spectre is my favorite of the Watchmen characters, and I think that is why this is so disapointing. It was a very ok story nothing really special and that is what kills it for me because this should have been special or at the very least pretty good. Frankly, I don't see the family resemblance 0

This is the first of the "Before Watchmen" titles and I think it deserves a little forward to put the review in context. It goes without saying that the "Before Watchmen" comics pissed a lot of people off. With The Watchmen being one of the most important comic books to ever come out it made sense that a lot of fans would see this as a cash in. I was on the fence about the whole thing. Likes:Obviously, you can't deny that Amanda Conner is an amazing artist. Similar to the way I feel about Darwyn Cooke's art in Minutemen, I can't imagine this book without Conner. Everything is absolutely gorgeous! Also, the mother-daughter dialogue is very well done. There's an ironic contrast from the beginning of the book (where Laurie reassures her mother that everything will be okay) to the end of the book (where Laurie hates her mother because of her past and the training she puts her thro...
