    Stuck in a rut?

Kate's continued fight against the myth's of Gotham continue.

    THE GOOD

Batwoman is still a consistently good read of a comic, I will give it that. The art is great, action is fun, and the full page panels of action set up makes it a really compelling read. The story has been interesting, and the cliffhangers really sets up the tone of the next issue well. Plus Kate is always a great character, and the way she handles situations is really interesting.

    THE BAD

While I don't really have an issue on the idea of separate but connected narratives, the time jumps really hurt the flow of the story. It really wouldn't have been an issue to tell the story in chronological order, with the side stories occurring with it. Hell, in this story, we get to the point where she finds out how to infiltrate Falchion's lair... Which I'm pretty sure we have been in the past 2 issues. Just seems rather pointless to put it out of order for the sake of being out of order. Plus, the lack of Kate's reaction about a certain someone's shocking death seems really weird.

    THE VERDICT

While it seems the series in, like the title of the review says, stuck in some stagnate rut, it seems we are reaching the conclusion of this arc, and hopefully we can move on to a more consistent narrative like the first few issues had. While a good series still in and of itself, it just seems some creative decisions are hurting more than helping. Hopefully we can move away from this arc finally, and get the ball rolling on something new (And preferably involving less magic.)

Synopsis: More developments come forth as To Drown the World continues.Like the previous issues, William and Blackman still incorporates the disorientated timeline, that shouldn't be problem now that we're reaching the climax of this story. Note: I'm going out of order of the sequence.First, I'm going to talk about Jacob's story. Things are not looking good for Bette. Although it's only two pages, the emotion ran strong, as The long beep through the pages is just haunting. Marco's story is nothi...

While I appreciate Trevor McCarthy's attempts to emulate J.H. Williams' layout style... he still needs some work with coherence. Williams has mastered this style in which no matter how insane his layouts get, the narrative is never hard to follow. The style is smooth with a perfect flow. McCarthy gets the uniqueness down, but doesn't totally capture a smooth flow, making some of the scenes difficult when I had to reread them to make sure I was reading the panels in the right order. And I don't me...
