Batwoman has a great opening. I have to say that the art on this book continues to be fantastic and is almost unlike anything else out there in mainstream comics. The way the panels are drawn and everything - this book is pure art. And the writing is, overall, great. I especially liked the dichotomy on one page of Batwoman undressing intertwined with panels of Flamebird dressing. The story, unfortunately, was a bit weak on story beats. I felt like I finished the issue way too quickly. I don't kn...

    Batwoman Still Breathtaking 0

Batwoman has been perfect for two issues now, eventually it's got to end this stream. How does it do in the third issue?  THE GOOD: The art is still amazing. I didn't think it was going to change because J.H. Williams III is just an amazing artist. The story is also still as great as it has been in the past two issues. Batwoman is looking for the weeping woman while she is being looked for by the D.E.O. I really love Kate Kane and her struggle with being Batwoman and keeping her promises to her ...

    Reboot Batwoman now please. 0

We finally get a little bit of info as to what Kate Kane's origin is in the post-flashpoint era with a little blurb... great. Why wasn't that blurb in issue 1 if there were going to tell it at all?The opening stuff is all kinda bad as Kate is supposedly having some sort of connection with her sister symbolically by the way it's shown... the problem with this is she's not connected with her sister, and anyone that needed that blurb won't know that that was her sister which makes the scene both st...

    Alone In Sorrow 0

The Story: Batwoman survives a confrontation with the Weeping Woman and then Cameron Chase. My Thoughts:This issue is entitled Gaining Stream which I find very fitting on a couple of levels. Obviously it applies to the actual story but it also can be applied to this series in general. This series has been like a gaining stream that continues to flow naturally and gain momentum with each issue. The drama and excitement continue as Batwoman narrowly escapes the Weeping Woman only to be instantly m...

This Lady in the Water is to be taken seriously. 0

Review for Batwoman #3.The Story: Kate finally confronts with The Weeping Woman and the D.E.O and their investigation continues.Thoughts: First thing first the art continues to be gorgeous. In this issue we have some many different styles of panels, from Kate being dragged down into the ocean, the action layouts are dynamic and gives it a very quick pace to it. We get more Weeping Woman and we see what she can do, it's mostly her trying to kill people so that they stay with her because of the lo...

    Bold & the Brave 2

What I liked Although I’m new to reading the Batwoman book I have been hearing quite a lot of great reviews about the series for years now. As a new reader I have to say I was confused about some of the backstory, who is this mysterious villain after her? I’m sure to long-time fans he and his compatriots are instantly recognizable but for me they were not. What I liked was the look and art, there seems to be two stories being told over top of each other, the artistic work and the story itself. I...

"If you're going through hell, keep going..." 0

Synopsis: The encounter with The Weeping Woman takes a toll on Kate. What's Good? You know, despite reading Batwoman Elegy a while back, I don't think I've ever seen Kate disturbed since it revealed what happened to her as a kid. If there's one thing this issue of Batwoman has proved to me that overall, Kate is still human. Haden Blackman finally has the time to let Kate let her emotions come out showing a side of Kate that feels the weight of being Batwoman. Seeing her emotions go wild after he...

Gaining Stream Isn't Gaining Steam 0

I have to say, all the things I said about Batwoman #1 still hold for this title three issues later - but some of those issues are beginning to be addressed. While I still want to know how she goes from long hair to short when she changes in and out of costume, I guess she Ms. Kane agreed with my questioning of her having a sidekick at all, because in this issue Bette gets side-kicked to the curb.  Meanwhile there's a little development (very little) in Kate's love life, and the plot against h...

    Haunting Ephemeral Beautiful Nightmares 0

The Good: Wow. How is it that J.H. Williams can always out do himself when it comes to drop dead gorgeous artwork and wil experimental panel layouts? The first few pages alone were some of the most phenomenal scenes I've ever seen. The wavelike ephemeral quality to the artwork completely nails the surreal nature of the scene while being completely coherent. It's nearly impossible to properly convey just how godlike Williams' art is. The nature of the DEO is something I don't fully understand at ...
