    Batwoman returns.

Synopsis: Batwoman investigates The Weeping Woman.

    What's Good?

Getting this out of the way is the artwork. J.H Williams was one of the reasons why I enjoyed reading Batwoman: Elegy, and while I am sad that Amy Reeder is not on this project, Williams' artwork is jaw-dropping gorgeous, from the cover, to the end of the book. The majority of this issue are spread pages that are incredibly detailed. There's also the range of different artwork styles Williams brings. Dave Stewart's colors play another important factor for Williams artwork as well, ranging from somber to suspense.

As for the story, It's been established that There are a couple of questionable facts about this series, and the DC universe: Is Renee really dead (I don't think so), why Kate really won't let Bette wear the flamebird costume, what is Bette's situation with the Teen Titans (due to the new DC Universe), and so on. Both Williams and Blackman make this series look and appears mysterious. That's another reason why I love this series, Batman takes on criminals, both mentally stable and mentally insane, while Batwoman deals with criminals and somewhat supernatural like villains. Let me rephrase that: The villainess has the same vibes as the previous villains Kate has tackled in the past. There's also the appearance of Mr. Bones who have something planed for Batwoman as well.

    What's Bad?

The only negative I found about this issue was Kate's background. For those who have already read Batwoman: Elegy and Batwoman #0, can easily jump into this issue, but for newcomers, it's overbearing some. There's only a spread page that recaps the events from Elegy, and it just asks for more.

Minor complaint, but the artwork can be overbearing as well. Almost this entire issue is made up of incredible spread works that take a while to adjust.

Overall: It's hard for me to recommend this first issue for new readers right from the start, unless they already read some of her previous titles, but fans of Batwoman should check this issue out.

The Story:Someone is abducting children which doesn't go unnoticed by Batwoman who begins to investigate. Batwoman is also still dealing with the loss of her sister, betrayal of her father and the training of her cousin Bette Kane.My Thoughts:I was very disappointed when Greg Rucka left DC knowing he would be absent from this new Batwoman series. His work on Detective Comics that involved Batwoman was nothing short of groundbreaking. At least one half of that team is still on this series. J.H. W...

Blood Really Is Thicker Than Water 0

I will qualify this statement by saying that I haven’t actually read all of DC’s releases so far and I probably won’t either, but Batwoman is, hands-down, the most beautiful book I’ve read this month. We’re talking legit art beautiful. I never heard of J.H. Williams III before, but you can guarantee I’ll remember him from here on out.In the entire book there are only three pages of conventional comic book paneling. Every other page is dynamically done. Nested panels, watery boundaries, action fr...
