Like, let's say for example, from Iron Fist. Chi, the natural energy of your body being manipulated by learned methods. I mean, would this make Batman superhuman? Superhuman feats, yes. But I question the idea of him being superpowered if he were to master something which we are all said to have (and therefore can learn) like he mastered any other science or knowledge. Let me know your thoughts.
Batman
Character » Batman appears in 23540 issues.
Bruce Wayne, who witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swore to avenge their deaths. He trained extensively to achieve mental and physical perfection, mastering martial arts, detective skills, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on the fears of criminals, and utilizing a high-tech arsenal, he became the legendary Batman.
Would Batman be considered superhuman if he had chi?
Well........... wouldn't he just be another Iron Fist-like person except not trained by the monks on Kun Lun? He would be a lot more scary though. Those eyes in the alley with his glowing fist. Creepy.
I have no idea, just a thought.
@warmachinerox3: Well, yeah and no. Like, he's already a blend of a lot of character's attributes anyway. And while not trained in Kun Lun, I mean, he was trained by monks which is believable. It doesn't even have to be a fist. It could be just an enhancement in focus, strength, agility, etc.
But yeah, that's terrifying. I wouldn't think twice about pissing my pants. I wouldn't even think once about pissing my pants.
in lego Justice League – Gotham City Breakout movie
He was able to make forbidden move with his CHI.
@lord_spectrum: why

I see no reason to classify chi manipulators as superhuman, they were not granted those "abilities" they simply manipulate what is within their bodies, in comics CHI is natural within humans, so they simply manipulate and get skillfull with it, their biology is still the same nothing superhuman - just regular human stuff.
@lord_spectrum: got ya.
@eto:
What?
Edit: Just adding a few more cents, to classify Chi Manipulators as Superhumans is like Classifying Sorcerers like Doctor Strange and Zatanna as Superhuman, but what they do is just manipulate mystical energies which is natural for humans in comics, same with Chi.
@lord_spectrum: got ya.
As in, I understand..
@eto:
Aaaahhhh.....i see. :D
@lord_spectrum: lol.
Nice pfp man.
Jack is the man.
Superhuman is define as- above or beyond what is human; having a higher nature or greater powers than humans have, and Chi make's the user body stronger and faster then what is considered normal to a human.
So yes, chi will make Batman superhuman but technically Batman is already consider a superhuman. If we go by our definition, but who knows what DC and Marvel universe consider superhuman. They probably have a higher standard then ours.
@eto:
Thanks. :)

^This.
If Chi is a source of within, within the biology of humans', it should not be classified as superhuman. Real life monks use what they describe as chi to stop a spear going through their neck. If it is within the human limits and Batman trained in this specific area, then he's basically just an extremely well trained monk. To aim for human potential.
If we're talking about punching a dragon to death and then gaining a magical glowing fist which is considered to be apart of Chi and human potential somehow, then yeah he'd be superhuman.
Thanks for the replies everyone. Nice to see so many fresh opinions. I personally am not aiming for him to have a glowing fist, but even if he did and was able to all those things, so long as other humans are just as capable of learning it, I really don't believe you can call him superhuman. He's not beyond what a normal human being, in his universe, can achieve. Using real life standards for him is ridiculous btw. But yeah, for example, if Batman had the type of chi that allowed for you to punch through steel and stuff but Random Joe, given more or less the same direction and time, could also do it, then it's just another form of human, since it's natural in all of us. But yeah, thanks for joining the discussion. Appreciate the inputs.
