All throughout I am Suicide, Bane is butt-naked. I don't get it. Is there a reason for this? Does the artist just enjoy using lighting effects for conveniently placed shadows? What's the deal?

This also gives Batman the chance to nut shot him with a punch, kick, or batarang.

In a way King is showing us that Bane is clean, pure since he has stopped using the venom that was giving him more power. At least that is how I understand it.

He's too sexy for his shirt (or any other part of his costume).

I have no idea if these sexual undertones were actually intended by King, but honestly, there's no other explanation. I mean, if I wanted to fight someone and kick his ass, I wouldn't remove all of my clothes. Sure, having little clothes on is comfortable, but why would he remove his underpants in a fight?

I haven't read these issues so I'll be missing certain character beats that would clue the reader in, but just guessing from this image I'd say he's naked for a few reasons. One is dominance/power. He is showing everyone his form, muscles, and essentially his weapon...no pun intended, as himself. Bane is basically the epitome of human physicality, so that would most likely change the way he sees himself in the world compared to other people. Possibly, he would have the mind of a God, in that he is the better and must show it, differentiate himself from everyone around him. If he rose to be this powerful (i.e. worked years to sculpt that body) he'll want to show it off and be proud of what he's done. Another reason could quite simply be him threatening all that sees him. Like saying "I can beat you without any weapons or hidden play" but on a visual scale. Another reason, again, quite simply could be a distraction. I don't know if he fights naked too, but society tends to shy away from naked people and it may pose as a slight advantage in unnerving his enemies other than the fact that no clothes will literally allow him to have nothing holding him back, he can fight and move any way his body needs to instead of being restricted in a suit. Again, I haven't read his issues, but those are just a few ideas you could be working with based on that image.
