Bruce Wayne, who witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swore to avenge their deaths. He trained extensively to achieve mental and physical perfection, mastering martial arts, detective skills, and criminal psychology. Costumed as a bat to prey on the fears of criminals, and utilizing a high-tech arsenal, he became the legendary Batman.
Along with Judge Dredd, he's usually one of the few heroes that could be considered to have an authoritarian belief. This is rare for heroic characters since pop culture usually has it associated with nazis and the like.
@makkyd: Does he really though? I remember in that episode of Justice League where he meets an alt. dimension Batman he seems rather disturbed by the lack of freedom in that version of Gotham. His actions in the Dark Knight Returns also heavily contradict that argument.

Yes but aren't thoses alternative versions from the major timelines (post-crisis, post-flashpoint, animated series).
@jb681131: Good point. I did some additional research and his use of mass surveillance and fear tactics validates that argument. I do however think he leans toward the left, seeing as he's strongly anti-gun and uses his wealth to fund and rebuild Gotham and its institutions.
At the core, I think Bruce believes the system can and does work, but that the one in Gotham is broken due to corruption.... hence why he still has faith in cops like Gordon and still hands criminals over to them rather than punish them on his own.
Another aspect is that Bruce is very, very, pragmatic, if he wants to win, he can and will use and work with anyone and anything in order to get the job done within his own moral constraints.
So I am going to say that he is actually a swing voter, he will vote for the people who he believes can do the job best.
