Bruce Wayne, who witnessed the murder of his billionaire parents as a child, swore to avenge their deaths. Costumed as a bat to prey on the fears of criminals, and utilizing a high-tech arsenal, he became the legendary Batman.
Off My Mind: Why Did Batman Have a Zebra Costume?
The article says there isnt a Zebra Batman figure yet, Booyah! I present Mattels Zebra Batman, shown at SDCC 2009, is suppose to be released later in the new allstar line but as you can see its been sculpted for grubby hands to enjoy.

It's his beatin' costume,. which is why Robin's so scared.
This made me laugh. I wonder if he has a matching set of gloves. This article reminded me of Unus the Untouchable from X-Men Vol 1 #8.
That suit was suited to the craziness of the campy era of the Silver Age, and its in that muck of campiness that it shall stay lol. Still, I think its fascinating regardless of whether it would work in comics today or not.
Even though I feel this looked absolutely ridiculous, you have to admire the purity, unlike many other crazy Batman costumes that were made in the name of selling an action figure, this was just done for the sake of being quirky and trying something new, in that sense I appreciate the zebra costume, it was not just a blatant merchandising attempt like so many current 1-shot costumes are in the here and now.

I have to say, it looks as though Batman just wanted some camo for a mission on the African plains and Alfred just botched the project a little. However, I can't implore him enough the repercussions of looking like a mentally deranged, super buff zebra. I think he'd have to spend his time running from the local community of female zebra, before he'd catch that criminal. To who this day I am certain is still shouting from his cell that he was assaulted by striped biped horse...
