With the recently announced news of Superman/Batman, the whole idea of them clashing has again become a popular topic. Thing is, there's no Kryptonite in this universe so it got me thinking, just how could Batman hurt Superman? I'm not really sure how there would be much of a fight anyway, seeing as how if Superman landed one punch Batman would be eating through a straw if he survived. So, how else could he hurt him without physically engaging him in a brawl or otherwise silly mechanism or robot? I'm not hating, I love both characters to death I'm just curious.

Who knows? Batman fans will argue it to death despite the fact Supes could royally kick his ass. For Batman to win he would need 101 things to fall in to place and even then, he has to avoid getting hit.

Well if they're making a smart Batman in a world where kryptonite either hasn't been discovered or doesn't exist then he won't fight him

Any of you watch Vsauce? Calculating the damage from a single all out punch from Superman showed that not only would he disintegrate you, he'd rip apart your atoms leading to a second big bang, and that's assuming he weighs as much as an average human his size. Based on that, as much as I love Batman, it's safe to assume that he, nor anybody else for that matter, would win in a fight with Superman without kryptonite or an equivalent/greater power level.

Superman is the man. But I don't really believe Superman could beat any other superhero. He's stronger than everyone put together basically, so he can pretty much one shot whomever he likes out of the heroes galleries and because of this Superman will always hold back. He will NEVER give a 100%, because if he does he will kill. And unless the hero turns villain, in which case he isn't really a hero no more, Superman will probably always "lose" just because he's gonna hold back & eventually get nailed with kryptonite. If he dies? Well he'll just be reborn again & everybody's happy.

But if Superman doesn't hold back (which will always be PIS, because he would always hold back, it's Kal-El we're talking about) he's gonna break every bone in every single heroes' bodies with one punch. He's f****** Superman.

2. Use the suit he made in superman unchained 2 and a heartbeat device to make it quieter, an sneak attack him with kryptonite.

3. Electrocute him

That's all I can think of. But kryptonite was invented to be his weakness so doesn't it make sense that people should be able to beat him with it?

Martian Manhunter is just as powerful if not more so than Superman so you might not want to say every hero.

@jayc1324: Dark knight returns was just two old heroes with a asuperman being charitable and holding back. The suit from unchained wouldn't add anymore protection or stop Supes from doing anything. Besides it would need to be in a ground based enviroment like a cave.

@manofiron11: he could use the suit to sneak attack superman with a kryptonite arrow or something like that. Otherwise superman would need to be holding back. For batman to be able to win the fight would need to be set up in such a weird way and with batman having a crazy amount of gadgets but anything is possible

Well he could line the Batcave with led. Then do something to aggravate Superman to bring him to the cave. Then when Superman burst into the cave after he realizes that he can't see into the Batcave, Batman is hiding from him( using that new suit from Unchained and hiding his heart beat like Pre 52). Then with some machine he built that emits red sun radiation and with his Kryptonite ring he beats Superman.

if i was superman and i couldnt see through the wall, i would just cause an earthquake.or bring it down with my heat vision just in case bringing it down reveals kryptonite in the rubble.

Has anyone read squadron supreme, or supreme power or what ever it's called? Basically the ultimate universe where nighthawk (black racist batman) vs Hyperion. The way he beats him was pretty original and I liked it, better than just another robot mech suit.

Batman would use a Bat tracer to find out Superman's true identity. He would then then shoot Superman with a gravity gun!

well in that case he wouldn't do a lot of things, same reasons he's lost in the past. The ways batman beat him in the past is how he would be him this time too then.

Batman didn't need need kryptonite in Red Son and he had Wonder Women tied up in her own lasso. The Dark Knight will bring Superman down anyway he likes.

@jayc1324: I was assuming this fight was set in the MOS world where Kryptonite has yet to be discovered and Batman and Superman don't know each other so Batman doesn't know his weaknesses or capabilities at this point so really none of the conjecture about prep time matters since there is no way a rookie Batman is going to take down a Superman he's never met before in a world without kryptonite.

This article came out today. Humorous stuff, but I wouldn't be surprised if Snyder and Goyer used some of this.

With Batman's intellect all he would have to do is learn magic, and pummel Superman back into his trailer.

Nothing is impossible but Batman would have more chance finding a hay coloured needle in a very large haystack. And despite what most think, Batman has never beaten Superman in the comics.

Batman wouldn't fight Superman because he's not an idiot. I still say he should try to test Supes, not face him. Test his strength, speed, etc but especially his character.

Superman can just grab his opponent & fly to the sun, end of battle.
