Back in April, we showed you maniacs the first pictures of BATMAN LIVE, a big-budget touring show that’ll feature Bats, Robin and basically their entire rogue’s gallery together on stage. Now, Joblo (by way of Total Film) has a teaser trailer for the show and I feel like I’m missing a pair of 3D glasses. Take a look at it - - you figure that’s all supposed to be popping out at you, right? And you know your bullet time photography’s done right when I’m seriously wondering whether I’m looking at real people or CG models.
For the sake of Robin’s lower back, I’ll hope it’s the latter.
It’s still not entirely clear if this is supposed to be a musical like SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK. It reminds me a bit of some live action tours that the Power Rangers and Ninja Turtles went on when I was lad, so I’ll venture a guess that this will be one of those deals where the actors mime to a pre-recorded dialog track. You know the kind I’m talking about.
Maybe the most interesting tidbit about this is that Geoff Johns has actually overseen the production, presumably to ensure that it’s faithful to the spirit of the comics. So I guess Harley Quinn 's tuti-fruti new hairdo will fit correctly into the continuity of Robin's origin?
Anyway, you can watch the trailer here.
