Are there any literal batman novels?

I was just wondering if there are any novel adaptations of batman stuff. I only know one which is a movie novelization of The Dark Knight Rises. By novel I don't mean graphic novel (comic book) because the answer to that would be very obvious. What I mean by novel is a literal novel, like the ones that only have words, chapters, and no pictures. You know what I mean.

I think 'prose novel' is the term that gets used most when talking about superheroes in writing.

I think No Mans Land has a prose adaptation.

Well, I never read it (nor any of the others that I mention in this post), but Greg Rucka did a novel adaptation of the No Man's Land story arc, and I've heard that it's really good. And I think Dennis O'Neil did a novel adaptation of Knightfall... or it could have been Alan Grant that wrote that one... There have also been novel adaptations of both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, both written by Dennis O'Neil. I've heard of at least one other, but I can't think of the name of it. But yeah, there are some out there.

@patriotperson: I've only read Volume 1 of the graphic novels, but basically it's set after an earthquake hit Gotham, and was abandoned by many people. It's about how crime went when the area was deprived of power, food, supplies, etc.

Someone else can probably give a better answer than that.

There's one I've been trying to relocate. Batman vs. a shape shifting Indian that turns in to a homicidal car.

Batman Ultimate Evil is a 1995 novel that was adapted into a comic book. I've only read the comic book but I know the novel version is 45 000 words and was also released as an audiobook. It's about child abuse and leads Batman to a battle against child sex tourism industry in south east asia. Unfortunately, at no point does Batman actually fight Gary Glitter.
