A young Bruce Wayne has spent his adolescence and early adulthood, traveling the world so he could hone his body and mind into the perfect fighting and investigative machine. But now as he returns to Gotham City, he must find a way to focus his passion and bring justice to his city. Retracing Batman's first attempts to fight injustice as a costumed vigilante, we watch as he chooses a guise of a giant bat, creates an early bond with a young Lieutenant James Gordon, inadvertently plays a role in the birth of Catwoman, and helps to bring down a corrupt political system that infests Gotham.

    Batman Begins 0

Amazing, just like Batman Begins movie (is it a coincidence? That the movie just came out in 2005?). It's the most appropiate word for this excellent piece of art, Mazzucchelli and Miller really nailed the very nature of the Batman with this 4-part arc, i don't know if it's because i'm a BIG fan of the Batman (since i was a kid, like Mazzucchelli) Or it's because i own this story on it's 2005 reprint that features afterwords by Mazzucchelli and Miller themselves. The writing it's pretty strong, ...

After exploring the end of Batman in "TDKR" Miller now shows us his vision of the beginning of Batman, Batman: Year One. This is a brilliant book. Gotham City is literally a dump. Mazzucchelli perfectly illustrates Batmans world. Everything looks muddy and grimy. The characters all look stunning too, the art work is just great, I'm seriously lost for words.Year...

Rise Of The Dark Knight 0

The Story:  The focus is on the first year of Batman's career as the Dark Knight. James Gordon arrives in Gotham and begins his quest to bring justice to the city. Selina Kyle begins her masquerade as Catwoman and the public confuse her as being Batman's assistant to her displeasure. The beginning of a mutual friendship between Batman and Gordon begins.   My Thoughts:  Written by legendary writer Frank Miller, this story was scribed before I was even born. The story still holds up for coming out...
