900 Million-1.7 Billion. Just wait, depending on if WB nails this, and BvS is good, JL will probably make 2 Billion.

Depends if the Superhero market stays well respected and fans are hungry it could do quite well. It just depends on what the feel is from the public. Depends on how well WB markets the film as well to non comicbook fans. I'm gonna go 1.1 billion.

If it's even is generally seen as good, it will be the highest grossing movie of all time. If it is as polarizing Man of Steel, somewhere in the neighborhood of a billion dollars.

MOS didn't do amazing, around 600 million, and the casting of Affleck itself caused quite a stir, so honestly I'm not sure how it will do.

I would be surprised and disappointed if it fails to hit the billion mark.

Actually, it did 668 Million, even with a shorter than average theater run. 668 Million is more than pretty much any other super hero origin movie, except for the two Spider-man origin movies. If you expect it to scale in the same manner as other super hero sequels, you'd predict even a MoS sequel to scrape a billion. But this isnt just a MoS sequel, Batman is in this. And he alone would likely approach a billion these days. So unless there is a really mixed response, like MoS, it should be huge.

Thing is, people generally liked the likes of the Iron man, Thor, and Cap movies, which made them want to see the sequels. MOS was very polarizing, a lot of comic book fans outright hating it, which I worry will have a negative effect on BVS. Having Batman will no doubt raise the marquee value, but then again it's a new, untested Batman, who's casting has already caused an uproar, so it may not do as well as the Nolan version, we'll have to see.

If it makes as much as Avengers and kick starts a big cinematic universe like Marvel are doing, then my life as a comic book fan will be complete. We'll have to hope.

Why so low?

Its not that low, also the DCCU do not appear to be family friendly, the MCU movies make so much because people would carry their children to watch it with them.

1 Billion plus.. though given the sudden influx in Superhero movies, I'm pretty sure that eventually they'll start dropping in sales.. not referring to BvS in particular, just superhero movies in general..(and before you point out the annual romance movie or comedy, bear in mind most of them don't gross over $700 million)..

@helmutzemo: I agreed with your first post saying it would rake in 800-900mil. Not sure if you could use Begins as an indicator for Batman as he wasn't as popular to the general public as he is today. WB was smart to release BvS in March because the biggest competition it will face is the last part to Divergent.

It's going to be the highest grossing film of all time. Even after being adjusted for inflation. So whatever that is.

Seriously doubt that, but it's definitely going to gross at least 1 billion.

Avengers took 3rd place with 1.5 bil and it's not nearly as popular as Batman or Superman.

The Avengers as a whole are more popular then both Superman and batman (at least at the boxoffice), one could even argue Iron Man's more popular (at the boxoffice) since Iron Man 3 outgrossed Batman Begins, TDK, TDKR, and MoS. I don't doubt BvS will out gross Avengers, and maybe it will even out gross Avengers 2, but i just don't see it making more than 2.7 billion.

Not necessarily. TDK is still king in attendance, in terms of super hero film. Sold over 75 million tickets or so. Adjusted for inflation, it made close to what Avengers did, WITHOUT 3-D inflation, plus it wasn't released in every market.

900 million sounds good. Bearing in mind adding another superhero doesn't necessarily result in double the profits, being that it's really the same audience anyway and that this is still very much part of the universe-building stage making it part of the sum rather than the equation. I really hope this universe gets running as I long to see what this alternate take on the genre can bring to the table.

It'll depend on the quality of the movie, but I see it at least doing at least $800 million.

I'm not sure how good it will be, we know next to nothing about it. Only negatives for me are that Gadot is a terrible actress and Jesse Eisenberg is a mediocre one

He's good at what he does, but what he does isn't Lex Luthor. I feel like I know exactly what I'm getting from him and I'm not looking forward to it, he lacks diversity based on everything I've seen.

Justice League will cross the 2 billion mark

You sound a bit crazy. I hope you changed your mind by now.

The only two ever movies to cross the two billion mark are Titanic, and Avatar. Both directed by Cameron.

What makes you think Justice League will cross that mark when the first Avengers was built off of five movies before it, three of which were critically praised, and one of which is one the highest rated movies ever, couldn't make 2 billion. Yet you think this one - a franchise that kicked off with Man of Steel (rotten, for crying out loud) will make 2 billion?

That's very wishful.
