It's obvious that it's a dream sequence because earlier we see a thug who was beaten up by Batman cuffed up. If Batman really was a killer would've just kill him.

@darthaznable: Yeah, but TDKR was still an Elseworlds Batman, which means he isn't completely bound by the restrictions one has when dealing with DCs Status Quo.
@darthaznable: pretty sure he didn't break his neck, even if he did,so what? It's not like it's his usual MO to go and kill everyone, the dudes branding criminals, obviously Snyder wants to undertake a new vision on batman. Besides I'm pretty sure it's not the first time he's killed someone

I played arkham knight and went around shooting thugs with the bat mobile, it was awesome. Even if he has a gun it's not like they are gonna drastically change who he is, he's the batman. In the cartoon adaptation, he used a gun anyway.
@redatom1234: There's a large difference between branding and killing someone. Bruce Wayne Batman typically doesn't kill. When you think Batman you don't think kill.
Except he better than any punisher on screen and it can be seen around him how he became this way instead of instantly going insane. Granted opinion is a thing.

The movie version of Punisher, and Batman clearly start killing because of what happen to Robin, and that he had heavy stuff happen to him in the past. The movie was basically Batman going from Brutal to a sign of change when he decide not to brand Lex.
