    The true Batman has been taken down, his back broken by Bane. A new Dark Knight has taken the mantle of the Bat: Azrael. But this new Batman is not the man that Bruce Wayne was, and his vicious methods in dealing with criminals concerns Gordon.

    The issue features Batman/Jean Paul Valley

    Set during the events of the Knightfall saga, as the Commissoner is beginning to realize that the man beneath the cape and cowl is not the original Batman, and this suspicion is confirmed after a conversation with Bane. This leads Gordon to begin losing his trust in the Dark Knight.
