"Got To Deal With Those Consequences Later." Batman/Superman #1 REVIEW

Batman and Superman are helping Huntress because Power Girl is going a little crazy!

    The Good

    It's Batman/Superman, not Superman/Batman!

We had the Superman/Batman series that ran in the pre-New 52 era. It was fun, creative, and produced a lot of good stories. It had it's own little world and could be easily accessible to the larger DC Universe stories if needed be. That's what this series (and sister series Superman/Wonder Woman) is here for. To create interesting and creative stories that can be accessible to the DC Universe and also fans that are not as serious to comics.

Let there be no mistake made, this is not like Superman/Batman. Superman/Batman had a more upbeat tone, where it was more friendly and welcoming to new readers. Allowing them to see the alliance and friendship of Superman and Batman. Batman/Superman on the other hand is totally different.

Batman/Superman don't get along, yeah I know you've heard that before.

Writer Greg Pak really does an outstanding job with the story of this issue. He really plays on how no one trulytrusts anyone. That is what really makes this issue, and the entire series, really spectacular. You'd guess they can work past their differences, and you'd guess correct, but still Pak builds on how the heroes will never fully trust each other just because of their differences. This one story with Power Girl and Huntress from another world really helps add to Superman and Batman's trust issues.

Uh, Jae Lee please never leave this series!

Jae Lee, what can I really say? It's JAE LEE! Frequent artist in Marvel's Dark Tower miniseries, done a bunch of covers before-and-after that for various publishers. It's JAE LEE!! His artwork is just soooooo breathtaking and terrifying all at the same time. The way he draws the world and the characters makes them look larger than life. Great job Jae Lee, you have achieved something that is rarely done in artwork!

    The Bad

You really need to read this series for yourself!

    The Verdict

Batman/Superman! What else could you want? A team-up series featuring two of the most popular superheroes to ever exist and a talented creative team! If you have the opportunity to check this series out, DO IT! You won't regret it! Overall 5 out of 5.
