Bruce Wayne is tracking a killer through the mountains in Alaska when he becomes trapped in a storm and nearly freezes he is found by an Indian shaman and told a story about a bat during the healing process. The
strange cult is performing ritual sacrifices in Gotham, Bruce Wayne attends a musuem exhibit on the Alaskian Indians and sees the mask worn by the Shaman who healed him.
The Shamans mask was stolen from the musuem were it was being displayed, Batman starts investigations into the cult, then returns to Alaska to find that things are not as they were when he was their last.
