microwave25's Batman and Robin #4 - Matter of Trust review

Still waiting for the series to take off.

Art: It's ok. A very cartoon like style. Quite a dark comic with heavy lines. Fantastic cover. Really nice idea and captures the tone and relationship of the comic perfectly.

Plot: Good. Pretty standard. Batman's refusal to kill criminals is again brought to question. The caped duo make another grand escape and then we got another backwards and forwards between Bruce and Damian. We get to learn a little more about Nobodys background and the issue finishes on a nice teasing ending.

I still think Batman & Robin hasn't quite arrived yet but the signs are there. I think Tomasi is doing a good job constructing Damians character and the father, son exchanges are the most absorbing aspects of the comic. I really enjoy Alfreds influence on the relationship and it is evident he is going to play a big role in the future. I like the direction the story is going and I can see it getting better.

Patrick Gleason continues to be a fantastic artist for this series. He does an amazing job with all the sprawling abstract shadows, and it sets an incredible tone for a Batman series. I also have to note just how amazingly insane he draws the Ar...

      Becoming A Nobody 0

The Story: Batman and Robin escape from Nobody and treat their wounds. The tension between Bruce and Damian continues to increase. My Thoughts:The fourth issue of this series picks up immediately upon where it left off in the previous issue. Ending on somewhat of a bizarre cliffhanger, the scene turned out to be rather exciting and explosive. We again see Nobody questions Batman's decisions over the years more specifically his "no kill rule" he's maintained. WHile we don't fully know Nobody yet,...
