Nice to Look At, But Not Too Substantial 0

The Good: TONY DANIEL'S ARTWORK. Loooooooooooooove it. As I said in my last review, what this comic does that I think the main 'Batman' title should, is be the easiest accessible to mainstream audiences. And this one continues to do so. Batman's defeat of Sensei is believable this tim around, since Sensei was distracted by the revelations in the issue, and still made a ridiculously implausible escape. Action was excellent. I like how Riddler and Enigma tied into this loosely to set up the next s...

Cool, but not the Best Batman Title Right Now 0

In these latest two issues of Batman, the Dark Knight finds himself up against the notorious Sensei, who plans to use a mask hidden in a wing of a museum donated by Thomas Wayne (Bruce's father), in order to suck the life out of his enemies. This Batman story has a bit more of the supernatural in it, and has some guest appearances by famous Batman characters. Disappointed and Disillusioned 0

One good thing: I'm glad this story arc is over with. I found it silly and boring. Sensei is a lame villain. Peacock is sub-par but Dick seems to like her so I fear she will be making other appearances in Batman comics to come. I-Ching is the only real cool character in this series. The beholder mask was silly and somewhat corny. The art was pretty good but the pacing and action seemed 'fast-forwarded'. Too rushed for my taste.
