    It's The Final Countdown 1

Here we have a nice set up to the Return of Bruce Wayne. Vicki Vale is desperately trying to get to the bottom of things while Dick, Damian, and Tim try to stop an old enemy.  The Good I have hated Damian since day 1, but this issue is starting to help me come around. Don't get me wrong he's still cocky and annoying (although a great line when referring to Bruce's old enemies - "back in the day many of your adversaries were complete imbeciles"), but there are some moments where we finally start ...

    Daddy Always Care 0

Summary:   As a old crime villain in Batman's past suddenly appears, Dick and Damian is faced with a similar old situation. Also it takes the Bat Family to teach a lesson to the still learning Damian.   The Good:   Ever since issue 700 we've been seeing the past. It's hard to complain since each have been so good and for sure you can add this in that collection. One thing that separates this issue from that collection is "Daddy Issues". Of course Damian acts out  and says his father wouldn't do ...

Batman #703: The Great Escape 2

"How Could You Have Let Him Go?" - Dick Grayson (as Robin). Celebrating "The Return of Bruce Wayne" (which is right-around-the-corner) Batman issue 703 is the prelude, that will get everyone (the people who read this issue) into the action. If you haven't been reading Return Of Bruce Wayne by Grant Morrison, then you can just start here if you've not been reading that series or Batman and Robin. Writer Fabian Nicieza and artist Cliff Richards, take readers into the prelude of "The Road Home...

    The Getaway Genius 1

Cover The cover was boring but, it has some green that makes it kind of stand out. Story Robin and Batman are after a master of escaping named the Getaway Genius. Since he was the master of getting away he gets away from Robin and Batman. They go back home and Robin yells at Batman it reminds Dick when he use to yell at Bruce. Then Red Robin walks in and he shows Dick a newspaper. It is written by Vicki Vale and now they have to make a decision what to do with her. Dick goes to Vicki and Vicki...

    Remembering Batman 2

The Good: Character development for Damien. He was at an all time high in bratty spunkiness, and he had it all come crashing down on his head. It was pretty heartwarming. Vicky Vale is as tenacious as a fucking crocodile. THe fact that she managed to turn the tables back on the Bat Family when they turned the tables on her was a brilliant ending. The identity of the Getaway Genius. The backstory of the original Getaway Genius was really nice. Damien made some wild crazy assumptions in the beginn...

Batman - Prelude To "The Main Event" 0

Gateway me a giant Taco.  The prelude is unleashed, and begins the journey back for Bruce Wayne. With Bruce Wayne (not) here yet, Return of Bruce Wayne by Grant Morrison, has only two issues left. With the missing pages of R.I.P. and Final Crisis (also by Grant Morrison), he is currently focusing on Road Home, Return Of Bruce Wayne, and Batman INC. Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne, Alfred Pennyworth all star in this amazing issue of the prelude that will start everything! Written by Fab...

This is going in the right direction! 1

The art in Batman 703 really hit me. Cliff Richards did an amazing job, and I can't wait to see if he is going to do issue 704 or not. I truly hope he will be. The combining of the tree major current players in the batman family in this issue was a work of virtual genius. And the whole Vicki Vale while at first seemed very cheesy actually had an old school feel that I really liked. It was a tight little story about an old criminal and why Bruce decided not to bring to justice way back in t...

    The Great Escape 0

Great stuff. I’ve never read anything written by Fabian Nicieza before, but he’s pretty damn good at writing. And the only art I’ve seen of Cliff Richards’ was the little bit he did in Batman #700, but he’s also really good. The plot of this book really feels like a celebration of Batman’s long career, much more so than 700’s plot did. I suppose the plot is pretty simple, but I’d rather read a comic with a simple plot than one with an overly confusing plot. As I said earlier, Nicieza’s writing ...

Filler Issue or Something More? 1

Is she the Gotham version of Lois Lane? I have been mentioning that I am fairly new to Batman, I am so new to reading Batman titles that my first Batman was Dick Grayson. I have never even read a Batman story involving Bruce Wayne except for Batman #700. So this issue was pretty confusing for someone who is so new to the Batman universe.  The Good  As always I always have to mention the amazing art that fill these comic books. Cliff Richards is an amazing artis...

One step can lead to a long road home. 0

Story: Dick and Damian are chasing Getaway. They lose her in a sewer so Dick and Damian have to go in after her. Later at the bat cave, Damian yells at Dick for letting her get away and Dick has a flashback of when he yelled at Bruce for the same kind of situation. It turns out this Getaway is the daughter of the original male Getaway. Tim arrives and in the news Viki has written about how Batman and Robin failed on this mission. The next day Dick goes over to the building where Viki works and V...

A brother to brother moment 0

Before Bruce Wayne: The Road Home, we have a light hearted issue that brings Dick and Damian together....a little bit.  Pros:   The story is simple and a bit on a light tone compared to the last few issues by Grant Morrison. This issue bring the sons of Batman together, but more particularly between the relationship of Dick and Damian. The two don't see eye to eye on everything mostly because of Damian's attitude. What's interesting about this issue is that how similar Dick was to Damian somew...
