    "an overt invitation."

While Batman attempts to figure out who drugged the Riddler with Joker Venom,  he tries to piece together the mystery revolving around Blackspell and his connection with Firefly and The Riddler.

    What You Need To Know.

With one month left until Batman #700, Tony Daniel continues his run as Writer for book.  He is no longer pulling double-duty as Writer/Artist.  Batman and The Riddler cross paths on more than one crime scene.  Batman finds himself battling against a new foe, Blackspell.  He found Riddler drugged with Joker Venom.

    The Good

Tony Daniel's writing has improved greatly over the past couple months, with the exception of a few speed bumps the last few issues, it seems that he has hit his stride in this one.
Guillem March draws a spectacular issue, correlating to Daniel's writing.
Batman's forensic skills are actually shown in action this time around, which was really cool to see.
Batman's Inner Monologue was prominent and welcome this month.
Batman-Riddler and Batman-Firefly exchanges were good depictions

    The Bad

If you didn't read last issue you could almost easily say this was Bruce Wayne and not Dick Grayson.
The ending was satisfying, but almost too cliffhanger-ish.

    Verdict.

It was a solid issue, better than the first part of the arc.  With Batman #700 coming out next month, this 2-part arc isn't a must have, unless more is explored later on.  The Riddler's character is given a new direction, so if you're a fan of him you might want to pick this up, however he's not in it as much as he was last issue.  It's not really new reader friendly because it's a two-part arc and you kind of need to read the first part.  The Writing and Art was well above average this time around.

Batman as in the comic book series is in good hands as far as I can see.  Tony Daniel's writing skills have really shined in these last 2 issues.  This could be due to his being able to concentrate on just that his writing.  The art duties have been handled by Guillem March.  I haven't following his work on Sirens and was ok with his work last issue on my first read through.  However, the second time thru I liked it much more.  He has a kinetic style that really lent much to the story.  This is ...

I strongly disagree with people who feel that this very short 2-issue arc is a disappointment and a waste of time. I have really enjoyed both issues.  I think Tony Daniels writing is absolutely fantastic and thats what made this issue a great issue. Guillem March's art is also fantastic and works very well with the storyline.  In this issue, we really do see Batmans "detective side" as opposed to his fighting side which we do see but not much.    SPOILER WARNING: Click here to reveal hidden con...
