Batman is affected on a personal level when a string of murders plague Gotham.

When investigating the scene of the third victim, Batman helps with a fire rescue where he meets a young lady named Kate Babcock. He later meets her as Bruce Wayne and becomes fast friends with her. When she becomes a victim of the Dumpster Killer, he lets his emotions get the best of him.

    What a bargain! 0

I picked up a decent copy of this issue for 20 cents.  I tell you, I got a bargain.  This is one I will read again.  I was pulled in from the beginning.  Read like a great crime novel to me.  We find Batman investigating a murder of a young woman that was cut up and left in a dumpster.  Shortly thereafter finds himself helping out with a fire rescue.  He finds rescues Kate Babcock.  When he meets up with her as Bruce Wayne, he instantly finds a bond.  They become fast friends, until she's murder...
