    Welcome to Gotham

It's here...it's finally here and the latest installment in Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's run sure packs one hell of a punch. After the year long epic of "Zero Year" we find Batman back in the present day, and the events of Endgame take place after those of the weekly series "Batman: Eternal." I won't talk too much about the plot other than some of your favorite Justice League members make an appearance...but not in the way you think they would. Instead of helping Bruce, they all wish to kill him which leaves Bruce pondering who could take control of some of the strongest beings on the planet? Finally, we see who it is and we know...stuff is going to get even crazier...

Capullo again delivers breathtaking artwork in this issue. It's unbelievable that he can finish an issue each month without slowing down or having a fill in artist. Just take a look at each panel and just appreciate every small detail he puts into the scene.

The only reason this wasn't a perfect score is really just a personal opinion about the Joker being the bad guy again. While it is the 75th anniversary of Batman and we couldn't do that without Joker showing up, it almost feels too soon to bring him back into Snyder's story. I know it's been about 2 years since he showed up, but he was the main villain in the last "present day" story arc (Death of the Family). However, I am still very excited to see what happens to the Dark Knight as Endgame continues....

So, this book is kind of a mixed bag for me. Overall, I enjoyed it, and damned if the ending didn't have me thinking "Pants to be darkened", but it kinda perpetuates something that has been irritating me in recent years...but I suppose I'm getting ahead of myself. First off, I should note that this takes place after the events of Batman Eternal. As such, things have changed quite a bit. Bruce, Alfred, and Julia are hiding out in a new base, which just happens to be the Court of Owls' old nest o...
