End game.
My review for, Batman #32. Batman and Riddler face off one last time!
The Good
In this issue, Batman and Riddler face off, in a battle of wits! With Gotham City hanging in the balance, Batman has to outsmart the Riddler, before missiles bring Gotham to an end! This is the last issue of the Zero Yearstory arc by writer Scott Snyder, and I believe that he did a great job with testing Batman mentally. I enjoyed seeing Scott Snyder really push Batman, and make him realize that, he won't be facing criminals that are in it for money. Instead, Batman will be facing criminals, like Riddler, that just want to prove they are superior. That is what this issue, and Zero Year, has shown me during this time. The evolution of Batman slowly realizing that fact, of facing superior criminals, has really pushed him to think outside of the box and move him into a position to the Batman we know and love today. So the story of having Riddler in control of Gotham City, and having Batman have flashbacks of his past that relate to thissituation with the Riddler, is really amazing on Scott Snyder's part. I liked seeing more of Bruce's past, and how choices in his life, before becoming Batman, shaped him to think small and unprepared for the unusual. Scott Snyder did an outstanding job with this issue, and really kept things interesting, even though we [the readers] knew that Batman would come out on top at the end. I'm always amazed when I see a writer accomplish a goal like that!
The Bad
No complaints.
The Verdict
