A Look In The Owls Nest
Batman begins investigating the Court Of Owls more throughly and finds ties to his ancestors.
My Thoughts:This was easily my most anticipated issue not only this week, but this entire month. I was so thrilled at the outcome of the first two issues of this series I just couldn't wait to read more. Scott Snyder doesn't disappoint at all. In my opinion, Scott Snyder was exactly what Batman needed.
We see Snyder delve deeper into not only Gotham's past, but Alan Wayne's as well. Snyder explores the ties between Alan Wayne and the Court Of Owls which was very intriguing. I love how the story transitions and flows together so beautifully. One minutes your sitting in Gotham's past and the next you're swept into the middle of a gang fight with Batman.
You can tell Snyder did his research on owls an applied it to the story spectacularly. I'm completely fascinated with the whole concept of the Court Of Owls. The last few pages were among my favorite. A great cliffhanger from Snyder has me anxious yet again for next months issue. You can tell Batman is facing a threat unlike anything ever before.
Greg Capullo is quickly becoming a favorite artist of mine. I won't go so far as to say he's one of the best out there, but I'm really digging his style in this series. The only possible negative I could say about him is that sometimes I don't care for the way he draws a persons chin. It's not Howard Chaykin bad mind you. Capullo seems to make it work in the end. I really enjoyed the panels of Batman in the Owl's Nest. That cover is ridiculously awesome as well I might add.
This has probably been my favorite series out of the new 52. I encourage all comic readers to check this out. If there's one series to follow from DC, it has to be Batman. Scott Snyder is on pace to deliver one of the most memorable Batman stories in history.
