A masterful, heart-warming issue
Following on from The Flash 21, this issue is quite frankly magnificent. Firstly, the scope of matters is perfectly encapsulated. You believe the stakes, and you believe what the characters are saying and doing. Each and every figure in the comic has their own distinct voice, and this makes some key scenes all the more impactful. Not only does the writing contribute to cementing these pre-established voices and characters, but the art does as well.
While reading the issue, it's easy to get lost in the art. Pivotal moments are conveyed expertly in this manner, with even the least stand-out panels boasting of magnificent artwork anyone would be proud to stare at for months on end. Scenes that stand out because of all these aspects would bring a tear to anyone's eye.
Characters interact as they should with other characters which we've been dying to see having a mere conversation for years, doing so emotionally and with a sense of magnitude. These interactions lead towards the scope of the issue, as well as the event, as well as the Rebirth of DC itself being communicated expertly (as well as the threat of the Big Bad of this multiversal conflict). What's more prominent and important, however, is the overall finished quality of the issue: in this case, I'd give the issue a solid 8/10. It is easily a stand-out, and it seems as though this event is going to end fantastically.
