It's Harper Row! Also, "Requiem" 3

It’s issues like this that remind me how spoiled we've been with Greg Capullo on art duties. Like issue #12, we are given a Harper Row-centric story with someone other than Capullo providing pencil work. Maybe it’s because Capullo’s style has been, for me, a perfect match for this Batman title, the work of the fill-in artists seem just a bit off. And it shouldn't, especially since we have Andy Kubert, who’s done wonderful work on Batman in the past. However, his style is better suited for the Ja...

    Batman #18 1

WARNING THERE BE SPOILERS!Well its that time again, and the aftermath of Batman Incoporated #8 is upon us. To dedicate the life of the brawling Boy Wonder, each Bat-book that was close to the little guy is getting a Robin Reqiuem cover, and will some how address Damian's death. This book is no different, with Harper Row back in the mix and the continuation of her life since we last saw her in issue 12. Batman is hanging on the edge, and will Harper be a voice of reason or just a reason to show t...

    Batman #18 3

ResolveSnyder (former writer for Detective Comics and current writer of Batman, Talon, American Vampire, and Swamp Thing) promises an issue focused on Harper Row, the girl without any apparent role in the DC Universe. Apparently, she will somehow discover Batman's loss of Robin or at bare minimum witness the fallout from the event. Harper appeared to be taking an unhealthy fascination with Batman in Batman #12, so perhaps she has spent all her time since then obsessing over The Dark Knight and s...

So is this the new Robin? 4

Damian died.Almost everybody knows that already and this issue serves as a requiem issue in honor of Damian. But we kind of get another perspective of things. We get to see how things have been since the death of Damian thorugh Harper Row's eyes and how she things should be.The last time we saw her it was in #12 where we were kind of introduced to her character. Then we saw what she were, what she was fighting for and how she will affect Batman's life. She looked like an average character that if she...

The worst Batman issue so far 2

Who is Harper Row? and who cares? New 52 without a Robin, with 3 "graduated" Robins, with no real rich background as we used to have in the old DCU, and then DC go an kill the only interesting character of the Bat-family? Kubert is great as always, but this title has gone reeeeeaaallly down in my pull list......

Harper Row isn't the new Robin Syder confirmed it! 0

I love this series and even though I may be in the minority I loved last issue and it was a fitting ending to arc and I wanted to see what would happen afterwards also I wanted to see what would happen with Harper Row in this issue as although this is the first time I’ve read her (started with the #0) I was interested to see what she did in this issue.PlotHarper Row and her brother go to visit their dad in Blackgate Prison but he upsets them and he is taken away before he can finish the conversa...

    Has Batman Snapped? 0

This has been my favourite series in the New 52, and although it's not always been outstanding, it's always been good. With Batman being my favourite character I expect good stories from the main Batman title, and Scott Snyder's been doing that, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do now that Death of the Family is over, and Year Zero's about to begin.PlotHarper Row is worried about Batman, as he doesn't seem to be acting normally, so she tries to help him out.ReviewAlthough not as goo...

    Batman #18: Should I Buy It? 0

Despite the 4/5 rating, I definitely recommend picking this comic up to everyone and this is why: The issue was interesting and emotional and gave great insight to Harper Row as a character. Every time I read the Harper issues, I just get more and more hooked to her as a character. The problem I had with this issue, was the jump between artists halfway through the book. Snyder did the same thing in a previous Harper issue, where he changes the artist halfway through the book. Although, yes it is ...

    The Father's Tale 0

I have to come clean right off the bat, I've read my share of Batman comics, but virtually nothing post New 52. I wasn't kept away by anger or blind prejudice, I just frankly never got around to it. Two things made me pick up this book. First, I loved the cover. When CV and other news outlets reported on the death of Damian, I was nonplussed because of the cliche that death has become in comic books. Yet, much of the work in the Bat-titles surrounding the tragedy impressed me and in its best fo...

    "R"esolve YO' Problems Batman! 0

Batman has gone through a lot recently with the Death Of the Family story arc and now the death of Robin. How will the Dark Knight coupe with having to bury a second Robin? Writers Scott Snyder and James Tynion IV have an ideal of what kind of emotional state that Batman is undergoing. The GoodThere is some good to this issue. Scott Snyder worked a bit more on Harper Row's character. While this issue does focus more on Harper Row than it does Batman, I guess that is not entirely bad. Scott Snyder...
