DEATH OF THE FAMILY Part 2 Review:How does Snyder do it? Seriously, there isn't a single disappointing comic between the 15 already published in the Batman series! This issue begins taking off from Batman's current situation (he is in A.C.E Chemicals, for those of you who forgot). We can really see how depressed Harley Quinn is, due to Joker's changes for the worst, and that's really cool. The whole thing also looked like a movie, as the names of the creative team's members (the credits) are pres...

    Batman #14 10

Funny BonesSnyder has promised to deliver a story in “Death of a Family” which will transform the face of the Batman world. Batman #13 revealed a promising start with an even darker Joker leaving his mark on the GCPD courtesy of a pile of dead officers. He also brought Batman back to the scene of his original encounter with the Clown Prince of Crime. Finally, he beat and subdued Alfred for his own twisted and unknown purpose. Does Snyder continue to bring the laughs with the next installment of ...

Ramping up to be great 0

The Joker has been interpreted in many fashions, but this is possibly best and most terrifying. Snyder does an awesome job of having the Joker say serious things in a jokey, almost sarcastic way. This Joker is taunting Batman because he knows that he finally has the upper hand, which has never happened at this scale. It was also clever that he went back to his very first plan and instead of just redoing it, he did everything that happened the first time, taking away Batman's plan, and was able t...

    Homage 0

The Good: Greg art work is amazing like always. Loved every panel he drew!. Scott Snyder pays homage to famous batman stories involving the joker! The Man Who Laughs plot was mentioned, The Killing Joke was HEAVILY implied. Also the theme of Holy Terror was in the back up. Snyder throws a lot of curveballs in this issue, i really didnt except Jim Gordon to end up where he was in this issue AND how he ended it up there threw me for a loop! Nothing about this arch has been predictable. . Scott Sny...

    Batman #14 Review 0

Normally when I do one of these reviews, I take the time to break down the quality of the writing and the art, focusing on important issues such as plot progression, characterization, the artist's pencil work, inking and coloring, and so forth, while minimizing spoilers. However, with the Snyder/Capullo run on Batman, critiquing/reviewing feels unnecessary, as what we see month to month is such skillful storytelling that it's extremely difficult for me to find much to critique. This issue is no ...

    THE BEST JOKER EVER 0

At last, one writer captures what an homicidal maniac should be in a comic book. The best written Joker of all! as creepy as the first appearance! DC, you now HAVE TO kill one member of the Bat-Family for this story to matter.. are there too many Robins nowadays?...

Face to Face... to Face 0

This has been a brilliant series and Scott Snyder has done an amazing job on it. I have been both a Batman and Joker fan for most of my life and there is nothing I love more that a story involving the two of them that's written well, and nothing I dislike more than a bad story involving both of them. This is why I was very excited about this story line as knowing that Snyder has the skills to produce amazing stories I hoped he would do one with Joker, and so far he has.PlotThis issue sees Batman...

creepy, scary and leaves you wanting more 0

This series is a truly awesome story line i dont think the joker has ever been this creepy and scary. issue 13 started the story line of nicely leading you in and wanting more and issue 14 has kept this pace up leaving you guessing what the joker has planned for the batman family and if he truely knows Batmans and the rest of the familys true identities. i would recomend this issue to everyone the art is mindblowing dark, creepy and really boosts the plot nicely and the writting draws you in deep...

The Joker is back. His plan; Kill those who make Batman weak."Funny Bones"Art: Beautiful art here. There are a few scenes where the art is a bit off.Story and Script.Fantastic issue. Snyder kills it here. I still haven't posted my review for Batman #13(as well as Uncanny Avengers #1) which I will eventually do. This is shaping up to be my favorite Joker story yet.Joker's interaction with Batman is great. The story has some great plot twists. The scenes with Jim Gordon are my favorite. This issue...

this issue picks up where the last one did. This issue also sets up the rest of death of the family and it helps explain why the joker is attack the batman family. The art work is great as usual and the joker looks even crazier with a face that it just tied to his head and you can see the muscle of his forehead which looks better than it did in batgirl 14.Scott Snyder also shows how crazy the joker really is and batman has really cool trick to get out of the vat he fell in last time. Showing us ...

Come for the Story, Stay for the Art 0

Why I Bought ItLet's see where this Joker and Snyder thing goes, shall we?What I LikedThe art is just amazing. I seriously enjoy the little ticks here and there and little shout outs that really stand out on a second reading with the art. Did anyone notice the Joker colors used for a face like look to Batman's tape player? Or how there are 27 bodies in the river, a certain reference to Batman's first appearance? There was a lot to like with the art. Joker's face alone is enough to creep things ou...

My review of Batman #14 0

I was really excited to see Joker return in the pages of the new 52 and I can honestly say, this is one of the darkest and best Joker storylines in my opinion. I know this is just the first issue but I'm already sold on this story and I can see it going further. The kidnapping of Alfred and the revealing of Joker FINALLY discovering who Batman is(at least I think he has as mentioned by Batman) and using his loved ones against him by torturing them and it's really the Joker going just pure evil i...

THE GOOD: Greg Capullo is the perfect artist to draw Batman and Gotham. He adds so much details that you really feel that you are watching Gotham and it almost feels like it's own character. Batman also gives away a lot of expressions with just his mouth. The best part about Greg Capullo's art is the super detailed backgrounds, especially inside Wayne Manor. Scott Snyder does an amazing job at making Joker what Joker should always be; a terrifying villain wish a sense of dark humor. Snyder's Jok...

A Most Twisted Form of Love 0

THIS. COVER. IS. FANTASTIC. It's so goofy on a level that genuinely works. Joker's just watching his hastily stacked monitors dressed as a utility worker. The whole makeshift headquarters is just so damn Joker. Everything about this cover is unexpected, and pretty much the opposite of the previous cover. It just feels like this is a rare 'behind the scenes' look at The Joker as he works on a plan. It's genius in the way is so unexpectedly clashes with the intensely creepy tone of the previous co...

"A Nice Chat. Face to face..." - Joker 0

The Death of the Family continues! If you have not heard yet, Joker has returned and he is back to restore order? What kind of plan does Joker have in store for Batman and his allies? And how will Batman stop the Clown Prince of Crime this time? All we can expect is that Joker is not going down without a fight. Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, and Jonathan Glapion return to bring another thought-provoking story. The GoodSnyder has done an outstanding job with Joker's character. His version of Joker re...

A bit rushed and mashed up 0

Death of the Family continues. I was impressed by Batman 13 even though I feel it started of better than it finished. This issue keeps on at the same pacing and style as the last issue ended with. That many very short sections, almost snippets, telling a fast paced story. For me, these snippets have the same problem as the end of the last issue. It becomes a bit rushed and messed up. It build towards a climax but you can feel the writer wanting to get forward in the story and it makes a lose a ...
