What a great way to start a new series: having Batman confront a situation I've never seeing him deal with before, by doing it in a very original way and by introducing a new character we don't know if its friend or foeThis issue goes from 0 to 60 in no time when an airplane is suddenly shot down and Batman goes into action, King did a great job making the issue feel fast paced, exciting and dramatic by constantly telling us via the characters how fast was time running out, how precise Batman's ...

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERSBatman has easily been DC comics' most popular character over the past few years. He was considered so sacred and vital to them that he was one of the lucky few to be barely changed by the infamous New 52 relaunch (At least I assume that's why this was the case) instead of Batman himself the reboot opted to mostly just change the mythology surrounding him. This new volume of Batman gets off to a good start. A really good start. I didn't read the Rebirth Special for Batman but this issue was still a wide open door to me. Originally, I thought the concept for this "I Am Gotham" story seemed a little too ridiculous for my tastes, but after reading this issue I found myself convinced this would be a book to invest in.
