    Act Your Age 11

Every single element of this comic book, from start to finish, from the look to the dialogue to the themes to the tensions, all of it fits Stephanie Brown far better than it does Barbara Gordon. That's something people have been saying ever since Batgirl's costume redesign became public, but I think it was only after BleedingCool leaked those 10 pages of the first issue that it became evident how much of a complete sort of tonal dissonance existed between the kind of person Barbara Gordon is and...

    Batgirl #35 0

I was rather anxious to read this issue. Batgirl is my favourite hero, Barbara Gordon is my favourite character, and I loved the way Gail Simone's voice fitted Barbara's. Sure, her run was not perfect, but I am not sure you could put the blame entirely on Simone (DC is more than responsible I think). When I hear of a "lighter tone" and "fresh design" for Batgirl, and after seeing the cover (I refused to look at the previews), I couldn't help but think: DC is getting their own Ms Marvel. After re...

    This is Barbara 1

Barbara has fought her way through everything she has fought through her crazy brother, the Joker shooting her, and the death of Robin to end up as this Tumbler friendly character. She is now fighting villains who uses hash-tags and is a DJ is clubs. I could see this in a Stephanie Brown comic but not a Barbara comic. Barbara is a character who thinks moves ahead like Bruce does and she is good at it. Barbara was the Oracle for god sakes. Now if DC brought this out at the beginning of the ...

    HIPSTER-GIRL (Batgirl #35) 12

(QUICK UNPROFESSIONAL REVIEW)I'm also not sure about this new direction Batgirl is going. This first issue was not bad, but wasn't great either. This is completely different from Gail Simone's run, which I loved. Barbara doesn't even feel like he way she has been in the New 52. This is like a total different character. This could have easily been Steph Brown. DC -_-It's cool that DC is TRYING diversifying their books like Marvel, but it feels forced. I think this new direction will pull in new T...

    Black Book 1

This is the only Batgirl issue I've read so I can't say if it feels like the character isn't written quite right like some other people are saying, but I really liked this! The diversity does feel a tiiiny bit forced, but it's nice none the less. LOVE THE ART, and the modern aspect (which I thought I'd hate but it was nice)...

    An amazing read! 0

I'm sorry to disappoint all those moody Barbara lovers, but I for one, am totally loving the new Batgirl era. As a 21 year old who went through my share of personal struggles, tried to be all serious and mature for a while and then finally was able to relax and enjoy life, I connected with this comic on a really personal level. I can relate to Babs, the story is youthful and fresh and the art is amazing. Sorry Gail Simone fans but I'm digging the new direction, like, totally! ...
