    Stephanie has grown so much

     Cover

Something I always say about my Batgirl reviews is that my favorite series for covers is Batgirl. When I think of the best cover I think of this series. I especially loved this cover because this is the last cover we will see for this series because it is the last issue for the series and it was perfect. The art was perfect and seeing everyone that has come and go through Stephanie’s life on one cover made it great.

    Story

Stephanie meets face to face with her father but her father lets out a poison in Stephanie’s system and Stephanie is unconscious for several days in the hospital. When Stephanie wakes up she knows what she wants in her life and can’t wait to see what the future brings her.

    Best Part

Before talking about the issue I want to talk about Stephanie Brown’s character, which I think is very important to this issue. I have always loved Stephanie Brown’s character even before she was Batgirl when she was Spoiler. Not everyone liked her when she was Spoiler but a lot of people started liking her when she became Batgirl because through out this whole series she grew as a character. In this issue we see Stephanie over come one of her greatest fears and that was her father. So, seeing her over come him shows how much she has grown. Stephanie also in this issue overcame telling her mom that she was Batgirl. Stephanie was always scared of telling her mother because her mom got upset when she found out Stephanie was Spoiler. But seeing in this issue she finally approves of Stephanie was a weight lifted off Stephanie’s shoulders and will make their relationship have a tighter bond. I have to say that whole scene was one of my favorites and after I read that part I had to read it again because I really enjoyed it. I was kind of surprised in this issue that we saw Robin so much but thinking about it again Robin does not have many friends but with a little tough love Stephanie was one of Robin’s best friends. Stephanie changed Robin’s life and taught Robin a little fun is not a bad thing. The last page of this issue was also very important, in my opinion. Stephanie says it’s only the end if you want it to be. That, I felt, was a shout out to the fans and I appreciated that Bryan Q Miller did that.

    Worst Part

There was no worst part in this story.

    Art

The art was great for this issue. From the last couple of issues they changed the art for this series and I hated that because I always thought the perfect art for Stephanie’s character was the art they had in this issue. I am glad they went back to the art they started with in issue one of this series. Also there were a couple of great pages in this issue. When Oracle says what were you dreaming of when you were asleep and Stephanie was dreaming about her future. There were a couple of great pages that told us the whole story of what Stephanie had for her future if the story had continued.

August is becoming a depressing month as yet another excellent DC series comes to an end. Bryan Q. Miller concludes his Batgirl run as best as he can, and while it is obviously rushed to an end, it still manages to be entertaining and satisfying as ever.  It really needs to be pointed out what a miracle this book has been. This book had no business being... good. Every indication points to DC having had no clue what to do with the Batgirl mantle during Battle for the Cowl. They eventually threw ...

Nobody truly enjoys family reunions. You come back with many stories, but none of them are  Batgirl #24 of fun and enjoyment but of certain family members annoying the others, and long distant relatives that you didn’t even know existed pestering you on subjects that you really don’t want to talk about. The only good that comes out of them is that you can finally confirm how annoying your family truly are. Now if your Stephanie Brown the concept of a family reunion is defiantly not a happy thou...
