Origin

Creation

Basil Hawkins (バジル・ホーキンス, Bajiru Hōkinsu) is a supporting character in the One Piece series that was created by Eiichiro Oda. The series first began serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump on August 4, 1997. He first appeared during the Sabaody Archipelago Arc that began in Volume 50.

His first appearance was in One Piece Volume 51 CH. 498 "The 11 Supernovas".

Character Evolution

Hawkins acts as if he is a noble and is very enigmatic (shrouded in mystery) . He always tells the fortunes of everything that he sees, even noting the potential of death and fate in anything from a person's clothing, to their life . He is always completely calm (regardless of the situation) and never shows emotional response . He is also against the idea of needless violence, as seen when he stopped his crewmate from attacking a waiter after spaghetti was accidentally spilled all over his clothes.

Major Story Arcs

Powers & Abilities

He possesses an unnamed devil fruit (paramecia) which allows him to create voodoo dolls , designed after people , and relay any damage done to himself to the respective person . He was able to use this ability to withstand multiple hits from kizaru , and remain unscathed . . Also , each doll can only take one attack , after which they fall from his body . The number of dolls he carries is finite , and once they are exhausted he takes the remainder of the damage . His Devil fruit also allows him to become a giant voodoo doll like entity , with metal nails (as his fingernails)
