Chris Nolan's Bane will be much better than Bane from Batman and Robin.
Bane
Character » Bane appears in 1056 issues.
Born sentenced to life in prison for the crimes of his father, the boy who would be come Bane learned that the strong survive, and the strongest become king. Forging himself into the pinnacle of physical and mental potential and becoming "king" of his prison, he learned of the Batman, "king" of Gotham City . Escaping and studying his quarry, Bane challenged and defeated Batman, becoming known as "The Man Who Broke the Bat".
3-Minute Expert: Who is Bane?
" @Xenozoic Shaman said:" Illusions have been shattered. "Dude he didn't give you the half of it. Bane watches from a distance while the prison break is going on to judge Batman and in an internal monologue straight up thinks to himself "If I meet him on even terms I may be stronger but he is too fast, too skilled, I will lose." or something to that effect. What's funnier is that no one ever mentions Batman could have taken him later on too, it is just he was unwilling to use the weapons he had at hand because they would have killed Bane and he refused to cross that line. By the time he actually fought Batman Bruce had been awake for two weeks straight, had fought god knows how many criminals, and had literally been in a life or death struggle with the Joker just a few hours before. Any skilled martial artist probably could have taken him at that point. Azreal dropped Bane like a punk when they finally fought, hell in one issue Robin almost took him out. Batman didn't lose to Bane, in my opinion it was bad writers and or DC's desire for headlines. "
Yes everyone knows what bane did,its plot . that's how the story was supposed to work.
batman was in no condition to do anything.
The only reason why he was tired or why he was on those life-death struggles was cause bane made it happen.
Azrael has dropped the entire batfamily more than once, irrelevant comparision
could've,should've,would've ,it does'nt matter.no martial artist fought bruce like that,i can just as easily apply that logic to banes fight with bruce in legacy.
Robin never took him out, bane disappeared right in front of drake and came up right behind him and knocked him unconsious like nothing.
Yeah and superman did'nt lose to doomsday, hal jordan was not possesed by parallax, its just bad writing and DC'S desire for headlines
"Yes everyone knows what bane did,its plot . "Which doesn't make it well written. How did Bane find out who Batman was? He watched a 5 minute TV clip. How did he bypass all the Batcave defenses, hell how did he enter it in the first place? Uh he just found the cave and walked in? How did he cause the prison breakout? He blew up a wall... This is not "genius" level tactics, it is just hokey writing for the sake of forcing a specific thing. If it was really that easy every person in Gotham would know who Batman was by now and the Batcave would be a tourist attraction.

No offense buddy but you're just grasping at straws.
First of all what batcave defenses are you talking about?
where were they when hush broke in?where were they when Ra's al ghul and the league casually stroll in at leisure, where were they when doctor hurt took over?
And tim drake figured it out with a bunch of newspapers and a camera, point is that if you look at it realistically then yes the batcave would have become a tourist attraction. He drives a giant car and flies around an air plane, very easy to track his activities.
and he did'nt blow up a wall, check again,he had full knowledge on the cells, hence why he accurately sniped jokers quarters.
he figured it out the same way bruce learned kryptonian .
Bane put 2 and 2 together, plain and simple ,he figured out bruces identity easily cause he IS that good.

It wouldn't matter if Bane read the official "Batman's Secret Identity for Dummy's"
The main fact (which is a fact) that Bane has an army of comic and non-comic fans who would probably pitty you for your lack of enjoyment.
I honestly say to hell defining how Bane's either a genius or a badass to the likes of you and any others who DARE see this EPIC villain any less than what he is.
It seems I prefer to have more fun being among the idiots who enjoy Bane's interesting history and can't wait for the anticipation of Bane's second appearance within the film franchise.
Please do this community a HUGE favor and go sour a heroes forum or 3-minute expert video, and leave Bane be with his well respected fanbase within this site.
got it working. This was another good one. Wish they portrayed Bane as being a little more intelligent then they do. Anyone who comes up with a plan to beat Batman and it works is pretty damn smart. The character is cool . Put him in Batman Inc. That would be interesting. As for the movie. I still have feeling Bane is going to be a hired merc. Of course people will bitch about the continuity, if the Joker works with make up.................
Woh, I didn't know Bane and Batman fought side-by-side so many times. That's just messed up. They're friends? THAT'S JUST MESSED UP!!!
Woah bane is a such a tragic villian convicted before birth I was wondering if you were going to mention when he drugged Riddler but the you had to get the bear essentials. although now that i realized that Bane's bat breaking (Yay for Aliterations) had to do with him actually having Batman getting roughed up by the other Rogues I call asterisk on his moniker! Otherwise great 3 Min expert
I wish G man would work on his name pronunciation. Raish?? Was bad enough when he butchered the Katayanagi twins in the Scott Pilgrim feature.
I'll always remember the moment of shock I felt as a little kid upon turning the page to see the image of Bane breaking Batman's back across his knee. Also remember being strangely impressed by Bane doing what so many Bat-villains had failed to do before him, not beating Batman, but figuring out he was really Bruce Wayne.
"Interesting! but convicted before birth? is that even possible? "
In that particular country ,yes.

"Seems like Bane's entire career post-Knightfall is kind of a total waste. "
Why? cause he stopped being batman's punching bag?
awesome as usual and now the episode 6 or 7 of Young Justice makes a lot of sense as i always though Bane was just the stupid Joel Schumaker animal, as i left comics and went to wrestling in the 90s but as a 30 something have returned to the wonderful sometimes overwhelming world of comics, thanks to all u guys at wiskeymedia do i'll keep on coming back, love all the insight videos like this and so many more!

"Would anyone know which issue it was that Batman had a rematch with Bane because of Ghul? "
Detective comics ,somewhere around 700-710
Would be easy to prove, find an arab and have him pronounce it.
(Personally i go with how it was pronounced in the movie)
I never thought much of bane, but now I see how hard his life was and what an interesting story it has.
" I wish G man would work on his name pronunciation. Raish?? Was bad enough when he butchered the Katayanagi twins in the Scott Pilgrim feature. "He did pronounce his name correctly. That's how it's pronounced in arabic, contrary to the erroneous Raz pronunciation of his name.
Ordered Knightfall of of Amazon on Friday. Hopefully it will ship soon. This makes me even more excited for it!
You'll love it. Great read. They should've included Vengeance of Bane, Batman issues 489, and Batman 490 in there. Which means they skipped Bane's escape from prison, his first fight with Killer Croc, and when he pumped up the Riddler with Venom. The second book where Bane takes on Azrael Batman is bada** as well. I wish they would've put Knightquest in a paperback back collection though, I have a few of those issues which are pretty good. Instead book 3 jumps right into Bruce Wayne's training instead of showing how his paralysis was healed.
Bane is one of the many, many, many reasons to read Secret Six. Bane and Scandal Savage make one of the most odd yet compelling and genuine "couples" in comic books today. The idea of Bane joining the Secret Six sounded a little weird when I first heard about it, but putting him in this surrogate father/daughter relationship with Scandal was a stroke of genius on Gail Simone's part, which helped Bane integrate the team seamlessly, as though he'd always been there. It's a shame that most people only know him as "The Man Who Broke the Bat", because he's much more interesting now than he ever was in the Bat books.Exactly, I cannot agree more.
I learned so much about Bane thanks to this, always thought he was a one note character who gained fame because he broke Batman's back, but since then hasn't really done anything. But this is great, and I can see why he would make a great Nolan Batman bad guy.
Makes me wonder if Doomsday is a one note bad guy or have I misjudged him too?

@tbpinkfloyd: Well....there was plans for a 3-Min. Magneto but...I'm afraid it's not gonna happen right now.
@kfhrfdu_89_76k: That would've made life easier but "3-Minute Expert" sort of became the franchise/segment name. This way, I can get people (not you) complain that I'm giving more content instead of less.
Wow, that was really informative. I just knew him as "the only man to break the bat" and identified him as the giant muscular guy with venom being pumped into his body. His story is actually pretty interesting and I'm curious to see how his story is portrayed on the big screen.
I really enjoyed learning that Bane was more to bane the just a souped up druggie. Makes me more excited to see him in the Next batman movie.
The thought of Bane and Batman both sat in a doctors office waiting for their DNA results makes me laugh xD haha
