Chris Nolan's Bane will be much better than Bane from Batman and Robin.

I always prefered comic book Bane. 
Too bad there's been so little of him in the animated (and Arkham Asylum game) Banes.
 
I like Nolan use all of Bane's potential, his smart and his muscles for onces instead of just plain "Venom" juiced Bane.

Dude he didn't give you the half of it.  Bane watches from a distance while the prison break is going on to judge Batman and in an internal monologue straight up thinks to himself "If I meet him on even terms I may be stronger but he is too fast, too skilled, I will lose." or something to that effect.  What's funnier is that no one ever mentions Batman could have taken him later on too, it is just he was unwilling to use the weapons he had at hand because they would have killed Bane and he refused to cross that line.    By the time he actually fought Batman Bruce had been awake for two weeks straight, had fought god knows how many criminals, and had literally been in a life or death struggle with the Joker just a few hours before.  Any skilled martial artist probably could have taken him at that point.  Azreal dropped Bane like a punk when they finally fought, hell in one issue Robin almost took him out.  Batman didn't lose to Bane, in my opinion it was bad writers and or DC's desire for headlines. Which doesn't make it well written.  How did Bane find out who Batman was?  He watched a 5 minute TV clip.  How did he bypass all the Batcave defenses, hell how did he enter it in the first place?  Uh he just found the cave and walked in?  How did he cause the prison breakout?  He blew up a wall...  This is not "genius" level tactics, it is just hokey writing for the sake of forcing a specific thing.  If it was really that easy every person in Gotham would know who Batman was by now and the Batcave would be a tourist attraction. "

Woah bane is a such a tragic villian convicted before birth I was wondering if you were going to mention when he drugged Riddler but the you had to get the bear essentials. although now that i realized that Bane's bat breaking (Yay for Aliterations) had to do with him actually having Batman getting roughed up by the other Rogues I call asterisk on his moniker! Batman vs Bane Round 3?! Anyone?!?!

I'll always remember the moment of shock I felt as a little kid upon turning the page to see the image of Bane breaking Batman's back across his knee. Also remember being strangely impressed by Bane doing what so many Bat-villains had failed to do before him, not beating Batman, but figuring out he was really Bruce Wayne.

Bane is one of the many, many, many reasons to read Secret Six. Bane and Scandal Savage make one of the most odd yet compelling and genuine "couples" in comic books today.  The idea of Bane joining the Secret Six sounded a little weird when I first heard about it, but putting him in this surrogate father/daughter relationship with Scandal was a stroke of genius on Gail Simone's part, which helped Bane integrate the team seamlessly, as though he'd always been there. It's a shame that most people only know him as "The Man Who Broke the Bat", because he's much more interesting now than he ever was in the Bat books.

I learned so much about Bane thanks to this, always thought he was a one note character who gained fame because he broke Batman's back, but since then hasn't really done anything.  But this is great, and I can see why he would make a great Nolan Batman bad guy.
Makes me wonder if Doomsday is a one note bad guy or have I misjudged him too?

@tbpinkfloyd: Well....there was plans for a 3-Min. Magneto but...I'm afraid it's not gonna happen right now.

Wow, that was really informative. I just knew him as "the only man to break the bat" and identified him as the giant muscular guy with venom being pumped into his body. His story is actually pretty interesting and I'm curious to see how his story is portrayed on the big screen. 

I really enjoyed learning that Bane was more to bane the just a  souped up druggie. Makes me more excited to see him in the Next batman movie.

The thought of Bane and Batman both sat in a doctors office waiting for their DNA results makes me laugh xD haha
