    Luke's sword which is made from both Celestial Bronze and tempered steel. It is later on broken down to be remade into Kronos' scythe. It is the only weapon Percy is afraid of.

    Backbiter is made of 2 metals: Celestial Bronze and Tempered Steel thus being capable of harming both mortals and monsters and even the gods. This combination makes it very similar to Stygian Iron but much stronger.

    Apparently the sword is capable to slash open portals as seen when Luke escaped Camp Halfblood. The Sword is stated to be 5 ft. long thus making it longer than Riptide which is 4 ft. long.

    In Battle of the Labyrinth Backbiter is broken down and remade into its original form...Kronos' scythe.
