When Marvel announced Thor will be female, the publisher listed its big three as the God of Thunder, Captain America and Iron Man. Last night, a new Captain America was announced, so it was only logical that a big change would be heading to Tony Stark's world next. Announced via Entertainment Weekly, SUPERIOR IRON MAN will send the Avenger to San Francisco and he'll have an all-new armor. The series will begin in November and it's written by Tom Taylor and illustrated by Yildiray Cinar.

Axel Alonso, Marvel's Editor-in-Chief, shared additional info on Stark's new ongoing. “The newly-transformed Superior Iron Man has very ambitious plans for the city that some of its residents embrace, but not all.” Alonso also remarked on the title's name and whether it has any similarities to SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN. “Like the Superior Spider-Man, Superior Iron Man is a character that’s hard to root for.” Over at Mashable, they have a few extra details on the plot. They say Tony is releasing a mobile app -- one that'll use a version of Extremis -- which will allegedly offer people "the promise of beauty, perfection... and possibly immortality."

Marvel also provided EW with an image promoting the Marvel NOW! initiative. According to site, all of the characters in the picture will begin to play a large role in the Marvel universe.

Thor is going to face one hell of a development and I like the new Unworthy Thor version. And the new Thor means that we are going to see more Frigg in the future.

Then we have a Captain America with wings lol I love the idea.

I've never been an IronMan fan but if this means that he's going to have a Superior Spider Man modus operandi then I'm going to like the idea.

Then please Marvel, give Angela a new design.

Cant wait to see Taylor write Iron Man,maybe he'll break Pepper's back or fry War Machine over dinner.

Scarlet Witch gets more focus ? Count me in! I was worried about the female Thor (mainly because I dodn't understand why she had to be called Thor, it's a name, not a mantle...), but Jason Aaron said Thor Odinson would still be featured in the book, so it's good. The art worries me though. Not really on par with Ribic's. I don't know about Iron Man, might check it out, but the new armor isn't that great. As for Cap Falcon ? Why not. But he should have kept the goattee ^^. And if he actually keeps his wings that's awesome ! :)

Stark's already been "Hard to root for" ever since Civil War.

I guess after all the events in New Avengers with the incursions plus the upcoming Axis, Tony decides to become more aggressive.

Either way, after Kierons horrible run with Greg Land, Iron Man needs a fresh start.

Is this a new Avengers team or just characters Marvel are gonna push now? If so then it looks a little weird. No sign of mutants (Inhumans instead) and not one Fantastic Four character?

So does this mean Captain America is ending and All-New Captain America will be taking its place? Because I know we'll have two Thor books (one with Lady-Thor and one with Unworthy-Thor) so I'm just curious...

Little late putting this up, but then again, not everyone is an insomniac like I am. :/

See that would make sense but so far the changes to the Big Three haven't made sense. Remender had been building up Ian Zola to be the new Cap and now suddenly it's Falcon and by all accounts it looked like it was going to be Angela that would replace Thor but now it's some random new character.

Iron Man by way of the Apple store just isn't doing it for me.

The stories may be great, the character may be great, and Iron Man could certainly use a new focus in his book(s). But the armor just isn't my thing.

I don't see the point in any of this. You'd think if Marvel were gonna go in a new direction, they'd do it better than this.

Don't forget Marvel doesn't own the movie rights for them, so no point in promoting them.
And the recent push for the Inhumans(which marvel has put in a status quo very similar to the Xmen), only solidifies the notion that Marvel wants them as its X-men in the movie universe. Since thats what marvel is these days a by-product of the movies, instead of the other way around.

He seems to be doing well these days.

I give these changes a year. Or until Thor 3 comes out.q

I was looking at the Superior IronMan armor and it looks a lot like the ones of the iron legion (ultrons) of the MCU (Avengers 2: AOU), does that means that Marvel is also preparing for the "All-New Ultron"?

Ever since Colossusnaut, ive been check out of Marvel (comics). This is not making me want to pick them back up.

It's like he is dropping Linux for Apple..... disappointed....

I absolutely love that they are bringing Scarlet Witch, Medusa, and Dr. Strange to the front lines. Iron man's armor is ok...I would have liked more of a "Silver Centurion" vive to it, but it is ok.

But the rest of the characters...I know Marvel wants to shake things up...and I believe that his is just one of those things that will come to pass ( I really hope this is the case...), but there is NO reason why you should completely change a characters essence to mix things up.

I believe you should stretch the margins of a character from time to time, it’s healthy and fun. But a change like this is not necessary (Thor to a women (not even Odinson), falcon now Afro-American, and god knows what will happen to Iron Man). I'm Mexican, Kind of a minority I guess, and this doesn't make me feel better about superhero diversification...

If you want to boost readership and diversify dig through your 70+ years of published material and bring back an obscure and cool character...or even make a new one (Like the new Ms. Marvel), but do not destroy a character like these...Just my 2 cent.

superior iron-man sounds pointless

“Like the Superior Spider-Man, Superior Iron Man is a character that’s hard to root for.” So is Superior Iron Man not Tony? If it is, what is causing him to suddenly be a character that's hard to roof for?

I like the internet. It is a place where people come to complain about products months in advance, without getting to experience it, but when the product is released to the general audience, those very same people come and shower praise on it.

That's what's been going on with Marvel comics for the last year and a half, that I've seen.

Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are the only mutants Marvel has the rights to because they clasify as Avengers. It is ok for them to use them as long as they don't use the M-word.

San Francisco is an interesting choice...

I wonder what Daredevil will have to say (or do) about it...
