First Veil, then Striker, now… Reptil is the third hero whose enrollment in the Avengers Academy has been announced. The lizard-armed young man is stepping up from the Initiative and the Super Hero Squad and ascending one ladder-rung closer to a spot on the A-Team.

Is it just me or are these teasers starting to look and sound like those motivational posters you see in the waiting room at the dentist? “I refuse to let the past hurt me.” That’s an affirmative statement to live by, but to what hurtful past events do you figure Reptil refers? Could it be his screw-up in that Initiative case concerning the lizard man, Stegron? Or perhaps some trauma going back even deeper into the young man’s past?

What do you think, oh scaley-skinned Comic Vine community? Do you think Reptil’s a good choice for inclusion in the ranks of the Avengers academy? Are you pleased with the roster that’s been revealed so far?

Man, is it just me, or do these teasers really suck?

 @sora_thekey: The power to turn your body parts into dinosaurs ..... it sounds/is  STUPID  -_-   Reptil seems like such a useless character.

He's like the dinosaur equivalent of Beast Boy, only  two dimensional. I WANT THE YOUNG AVENGERS!!!

Yeah, the Academy posters seem to be the worst of the bunch (kind of hard to pull off when 1/4 of them have just been silhouettes.)
 
The Avenger and New Avenger reveals were ok; they were nothing special.

Its funny how characters go from tv to the comics. First we had Harley Quinn, X-23, and now Reptil. I'm sure there have been others as well.

Finally a character I recognize, and I kinda like Reptil so I'm okay with this. As for the sayings put with these characters I don't think its anything more complicated than "He's got dinosaur powers, dinosaurs lived in the past. Teehee." "Striker's a spotlight because he generates light. Teehee."

i'll check this title out.... but all I really want was  an ongoing young avengers title or at least a young avengers miniseries  :( 
but instead we get avengers academy and young allies :/

I'm not upset about this, at least we have a familiar face.

Could the past be put in adequation with prehistory, from which he draws his powers ?

He appeared in the comics first but I'm pretty sure he was being developed for the show and then they decided to put him in a comic.

He's kinda like Vixen or Animal Man but can only replicate the abilities of dinosaurs and his body parts change to show this.

I love him long time, but i want my Trauma.

I would like to see some of the Young X-Men in this

I will be checking these out, but I'm having a hard time getting hyped here. When they began the promotion for "I Am an Avenger", I was giddy. Seeing Bucky, Iron Man, and Thor mostly. When "I Am a Secret Avenger" began, I was intrigued. It was fun guessing who the silhouettes were and I'm curious to see if this is a covert Avengers team for more sensitive matters like X-Force is to the X-Men. But then we got "I Am a New Avenger" and now "I Am in Avengers Academy"... it's just sucking out all of the excitement out of me.  
 
But I'm not throwing in the towel here. I'm applying a wait and see attitude here.

 
I haven't watched every SHS episode yet so I haven't seen Reptil yet. And I haven't read the AI: Special either, so this is the first time I've seen this character.

I bumped into this guy when reading the initiative, he's pretty much a ten year old's dream come true, he's a superhero and a dinosaurs, well ALL the Dinosaurs. I can see why he'd be popular for a kid's show, and maybe he'll get more growth in a series. To b honest I wish that these pictures didn't come with a quote like mission statement from each character. With the main avengers we already know their deal, and with these guys isn't not adding anything.

This is looking like it's going to be absolutely horrible. 
 
I liked the idea behind Young Avengers, in the way that it followed the evolution of Grown-Up Avengers. 
But, this just looks like a gratuitously "youthful" book full of characters I don't care about.

Well that settles it, I will not be picking any of these copies up, unless they bring in a load of characters that are impressive. So far we've got a the mummy, lightening lad, and another useless character (couldn't come up with an alternate name for him). What a waste of printing time and money.

Stegron is a DINOSAUR man, not a LIZARD man.

@geraldthesloth: Exactly the problem! At the initiative to have a sufficient power for another fool to go and register to get into the Avengers. This was the biggest mistake of the title. Do not just be "young" well intentioned "and" have some super power "to be an Avenger. Not when you have in mind that you will face death threats and that can not survive. In the Heroic Age should not be the time to have children unprepared for death ...     "
