Where the hell was spiderman? Look I know he's not part of the avengers, at least he doesn't work with them originally, but they're in new york. They're in modern day new york. I just watched a trailer for a spider man reboot right before the movie which also takes place in modern day. Also no stark tower in any spider man movie. Honestly it wasn't really a huge deal, just something I noticed.
Avengers
Team » Avengers appears in 7704 issues.
The Avengers are Earth's mightiest heroes and foremost super-team... "There came a day, a day unlike any other, when Earth's mightiest heroes found themselves united against a common threat. On that day, the Avengers were born - to fight the foes no single super hero could withstand! Heed the call, then - for now, the Avengers Assemble!"
One Problem With the Avengers
@Hef: the Spiderman movie rights are held by a different company and thats why there is no cross over.
Where were Ant-Man and Wasp?
(I really just wanted to say that because I love my old school Avengers)
Well it's like what James Robinson said in the last podcast. Green Lantern bombed in the box office, but if they had put a Daily Planet in the film or mention Clark Kent's name fan's would have loved it, but DC said that would be too distracting. Which is utter bull.
In the case of the Avengers they have been doing character mentions and cameos for years now.
Heck Thanos appeared at the end!
If Spider-man or any other Marvel avenger had made a cameo it wouldn't really have as much an effect. Avengers is full of action and character plot, a cameo mention of Spider-man would probably have been mostly overshadowed.

Ugh. fed up of these stupid "where was this one specific hero in the Avengers film".
Half these people only make these threads for pure attention.
Spider-Man is one of my all time favorite characters...with that said...He did not belong in this film at all. Not as a cameo. Possibly a mention of a "spider-man" roaming around new york would have been ok...but not necessary at all.
It wasn't a huge deal but you just had to make your title like that? Ok.

^ That.
I think I'm just going to make a thread specifically on who's rights are where.
While i know where most right are with what people i think this would be greatly appreciated
want to hear what I'm fed up about?
dear marvel,
WHY ON THE F*** WOULD YOU KILL COULSON OFF?! WHY? YOU GUYS JUST NEEDED TO KILL SOMEONE OFF DIDN'T YOU?!

Same. I was almost positive Cap was gonna say it.
@DarkKnightDetective: Your spoiler didn't work.
As for that, when Whedon's involved, you had to expect a casualty. Besides, the Avengers needed something to... Avenge. There's a lot of talk about him being brought back as Vision or the body being an LMD. Either way, I had no problem with it, as cool as he was.

There were a couple different points where I thought it was going to be bellowed, but then nothing...and then end credits. :\

I wish upvoting existed in forums. I would give you 1,000+
"uhhhnn... how come iceman and g'nort were no in avengers? uhhhnnn. me need diaper change"

Me too. Kept scootin to the end of my seat only to be disappointed. Great movie though.

All I'm saying is spider man is in the same universe. There was a giant fucking alien invasion right in his home base. It just felt weird to me that he wouldn't show up, you know?
This precisely! I understand that Spiderman is held by Sony until whenever, but with the money to be made there will certainly be a an agreement made between Sony and Disney for a collaboration in future Avenger titles and then it's going to just a be a huge gaping plot hole that will bother me to no end. If they weren't going to even mention let alone include Spiderman in the movie they shouldn't of had Loki attack NYC! The movie would have been just as good in downtown LA or Chicago. I mean all they had to do was have Tony ask Fury wheres the Spider? or something like that. Dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb!

i would say as of now...spiderman doesn't exist in the "Marvel Cinematic Universe"... maybe Peter Parker is around...but hasn't been bitten by the spider yet.... besides this is a movie...even in the comics..all the heroes don't show up everytime new york is attacked...although most of them are based in new york...
if we go by ur logic then....
-where were spiderman, daredevil etc when Magneto was pulling that act on top of the statue of liberty in X men
-where were spiderman, the x men, daredevil, punisher when galactus arrived in fantastic four 2
-where were the fantastic four, the x men and daredevil when venom and the sandman was beating the crap out of spiderman on live television in spiderman 3
-where were all the heroes when magneto and phoenix invaded with the mutant army in X 3
the examples can go on....simply put...movies and even comics to some extent doesn't work like that

ME TOO.
Why wasn't Howard the Duck there ? He's an alien too!!! Ugh give me a break, obviously there wasn't enough screen time for the cast they did have since so much had to be cut. Adding random characters just for the sake of showing that they exist is waaaaaaay too much! You could ask the same about Dr.Strange and about a hundred others and why wouldn't the other villains come to help either side? See it's just too much. ugh
