Would you cheer for Chris Evans or Robert Downey Jr if they went head-to-head on the big screen? Because now it's looking like "Civil War" could make its way to theaters!

Apple hosted a "Meet the Filmmakers" event in London and actor Mark Ruffalo and producer Kevin Feige were present to chat about the upcoming Marvel's The Avengers and what's in store for Marvel Studios. Regarding a third film for The Avengers, the Marvel Studios exec said the big event by writer Mark Millar could be a good idea.

    No Caption Provided

Other updates included Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch possibly showing up in The Avengers 2, and when it comes to Black Panther and Luke Cage, Feige said he'd "love to bring both of them to the screen it's just a matter of when."

Do you think "Civil War" would make for an awesome plot or would you rather see another story used for the third The Avengers film, and if so, which one? Viners, assemble and comment!

Evans or Downey Jr? Pick your side!
Evans or Downey Jr? Pick your side!

Marvel's The Avengers will smash US theaters May 4th and early reviews are widely praising the film.

No. Don't do Civil War. There is too much that they couldn't do. Besides, Civil War was not just an Avengers event, it was a Marvel Earth event. It is too big to properly do on screen, beside It doesn't make sense to do it given all the other stories they could do with Avengers to do that.

It should make their own stories that are outside any thing already established in Marvel. The Movie verse should be different from comics. The Avengers need to just tell stories about their own rouges like Kang, Thanos, Ultron. There is plenty of things to be told without an event being turned into a movie. It seems like a rush to go from Origin to Disassembled in 3 films.

Plus Civil War wouldn't have the same effect as in the comics cause I see it played out more like the Ultimate personalities of Stark and Rogers who felt the opposite to what 616 Stark and Rogers did on registration.

I would be just fine with a Civil War-focused story. At least, if they do Avenger's 2 right and use it to introduce some of the key players who would be necessary.

Not enough for it to make it have the same impact. Besides, too many characters will hurt the series rather than help it.

@k4tzm4n: Spider-man. Also more street level heroes. And they should set up the "untrained young heroes doing stupid things" angle too. I can't see the current heroes being responsible for something of the magnitude where they would call for a registration act (except Hulk, but anything he does would just lead to people hunting him in particular).

Doesn't Sony have the movie rights to Spider-Man?

I don't think Chris Evans has built a strong enough character yet to lead a whole side of superheroes against Iron Man, though that might change after Avengers we'll see. But if they made the movie now everyone would be with Downey just cos he's cool.

No. Civil War was just too big to do in something like that a movie, plus live-action. They'd have a better shot with an animated movie, but I still don't think they could do it completely(though Unlimited Blade Works did well, even for a 90 minute movie, but still they didn't cover everything). Plus Civil War was not just Avengers, it was Marvel Encompassing. And it'd probably make me change my side.  I rooted for Cap in the books, but I'd end up rooting for Tony if they did this. Then I'd feel kinda bad, like conflicting emotions and loyalties.

If they do Civil War they are going to condense it.It's possible they can have a similar concept without actually having it be as BIG as far as the length of the story and all the details as it's comic book counterpart.

I frankly don't want that. Let Spidey do Spidey, and Leave Avengers to themselves. The more they make this Ultimate like, the more fears I have.

They would have to totally reinvent Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch to make them fit in to the Avengers and that would wreck the characters

They need to chill out with recreating the Civil War in other media. I wouldn't want to see it in a movie, the two sides were dumb enough in the comics.

They should try and come up with there own storylines IMO, what ever comes organically from Avengers 1/2 and the solo sequels

@spiderbat87: I think a movie focused just on Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver would be a very tough sell. I mean, X-Men: First Class didn't do that well in the box office (despite being excellent) and I think it was because they didn't have a popular character to showcase. Sure, Xavier and Magneto were present, but the general audience didn't seem to think that was enough :(

Thankfully, they're still going ahead with a sequel.

Oh god, that game was terrible. Graphics and Character selection was the only thing I felt was worthwhile in that game. Sometimes a story doesn't translate well in other media, majorly when it has to be altered like MUA2 was.

No, CW f'd MUA 2 in the A plain and simple. I get that CW is awesome, I get that Marvel thinks it is the greatest thing to ever happen but they need to stop shoving it into every form of media, it's in comics, novels, games and I pray it never makes it to the movies

@BlackArmor: @TheGreyOutcastX: I hate that they promoted the game based on choosing a side, but about 60%-70% in your side didn't even matter!

That said, I hardly think the game was terrible. It really stinks that they stripped away the heavy RPG elements which gave the first so much replay value (I upgraded all characters and got all costumes in less than a week), but it was still fun for me while it lasted. I sincerely hope the next one steps up the RPG elements like the first game did and, in turn, also once again focuses on graphics/presentation. That, and a game-unique story would be nice as well.

It's terrible cause as compared to MUA, it doesn't hold ground. MUA was a awesome game. The proper mix of RPG and Action/adventure, and good story. MUA2 took the idea of the first and tried to innovate it, but failed and failed hard. I enjoyed the first play-through, but after that, it lost all value. That game also has bug on the PS3 that it likes to corrupt your saves if it left on too long as the game freezes. I know this from experience >.>

@TheGreyOutcastX: Certainly true and that's what I expressed regarding the lack of RPG elements in my post. However, while the first game had much more life to it, the graphics were hideous, I faced bus regularly (was playing on the 360), and it was embarrassing how the audio worked at times. I remember Galactus vs Silver Surfer had no audio a few times I played it, another time tracks would glitch or just not loop at all. So, I'm happy MUA2 made a goal to fix the presentation/video/audio, but, like we agree, it came at a price... and that price was far less depth and replay value.

Yes, and price was way too high to pay for exchange of all the improvements with mechanics.

Unless they introduce loads of characters fast this will not work. Partly because the only people from The Avengers film that had major roles in Civil War are Cap and Iron Man and also no one has a secret identity in the films at the moment (at least to the government)

Wait. So Marvel does have the rights to Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver? Huh.

And no thanks on Civil War. Don't get me wrong, it was an epic story, but without Spider-Man or the Fantastic Four, it wouldn't be a proper Civil War. Plus, that's worthy of a trilogy on its own, imo.

Nah, too many legal issues for the majority of main X-characters.

I am really thinking that Civil War won't happen the same way it went in the comics, for one thing I cannot imagine them turning Iron Man into the borderline villain he was in Civil War...they will have to change the story around to fit the general audiences.....a tactic that sometimes ruins comic related movies

They should really really stay away from Civil War, it would not make a good movie. It would most likely turn into a 'lets see how many cameos we can shove in here' type of film.

Their are better story-lines to do than civil war. I heard a rumor that thanos appears in the after-credit scene, so I assume the sequel will be based on the infinity gauntlet, and I desperately want the third movie to be based on Kang dynasty.

Civil War is great but it is TOO BIG to become a movie.

There will also be alot of characters that are going to appear and the casting is another problem.
