Every now and then, Joss Whedon loves to kick us right in the heart. After an interview with Entertainment Weekly, speculation began over who the director/writer could potentially kill in Avengers: Age of Ultron. It's of course possible everyone -- everyone good, that is -- will make it out in one piece, but we were curious to see what the Comic Vine community thought. Well, it turns out you're caring and decent people because "none of them should die" earned the most votes. Good on ya, Viners. However, it's worth noting that 8% of you are diabolical and wanted everyone to die. Come on, this isn't a Quentin Tarantino movie, people! Although, imagine if he was directing the franchise and Disney/Marvel let him do whatever he wanted to do. That would be... interesting. Anyway, let's check out the poll results.

It's understandable why so many people voted for Tony Stark. There was some controversy over Robert Downey Jr.'s desire to keep the role for a long period of time and, truth be told, it's tough to imagine someone filling his charismatic shoes. It's of course possible, but it's a difficult thought, especially since he's essentially the star of the Marvel Studios universe. So, this would seem like the perfect opportunity to remove the character without forcing a new actor in the next film, especially since he's responsible for the creation of the second movie's villain, Ultron. However, Tony meeting his end seems VERY unlikely since the actor signed a two movie contract with the studio, confirming he'll be in the second AND third Avengers movie. But if you're a conspiracy theorist, I suppose you could chalk this up to some tricky word play and assume he could potentially have a minor role in the third movie via a flashback, recording or something else. That said, I really doubt it and I wouldn't count on Iron Man biting the dust this time around.

As for who we think should die... well, we're in agreement with the 22%. We know absolutely nothing about Quicksilver/Scarlet which, so thinking they should die is rather abrupt, no? As for everyone else, there's so much potential for great stories down the road, so we think characters like Black Widow and Hawkeye should be given more of a spotlight before they potentially go six feet under. Then again, it is Joss Whedon, so who knows what'll happen? Avengers: Age of Ultron is scheduled to hit theaters summer 2015.

Why was Hawkeye second? He hasn't been given the chance to do anything yet.

My personal opinion of why no one in A:AoU film is because I'm tired of deaths in comics, or films for that matter. They aren't needed as a plot device to make a story appealing. I mean if they decide to have someone die, then someone just will die and I will bite the bullet and accept that. I just don't see it as necessary.

I want Tony to die,since I am boredto death by RDJ's routine and the fact that Iron Man seems likethe Batman AND Superman of the Marvel cinematic universe. He shouldn't be.

Black Widow, she really nothing more than eye candy, on the big screen. I just don't think she's a good fit with the characters on screen. I mean they are the Avengers they have hard hitters and intelligence on the team, to coincide Shield and it's database. No need for a spy who shoots bullets or tosses explosives at powerful beings. I would on the other hand love to see Carol Danvers if Whedon is so stuck on a martial arts female. With her powerset it would be nice to see that.

If another actor is going to replace Tony Stark he should be more serious, like the comic book version. He is funny sometimes, but a different funny than Downey Jr. I don't want to see someone try to copy Downey Jr. Iron Man.

Nick Fury should "Die" and start a secret Avengers team.

I voted Cap. I don't want him to die, but it would probably be the most monumental death out of all of them because of his legendary status. I could see it putting the team into a blood lusted rage in a battle against Ultron. Maybe we'd get to see what the Hulk can really do when he's actually pissed off.

I have a feeling that death in comic book movies is gonna be a lot like death in comic books. Gimmicky and nont permanent.

Hawkeye hasnt done anything yet. Black Widow should be #2, you dont need both her & Hawkeye. She hasnt done anything either, the only reason Hawkeye was turned evil in the movie is because Marvel didnt want their only female to be evil.
