    Yeah, riiight... 2

Cable kills Cap. The Avengers are the enemies of the world. Cable is back... How come I am not surprised at any of this? The Good:The Art. I've always liked Ed McGuinness' style. It just seems like modern, fun and light comic book art. Nothing spectacularly awesome or groundbreaking, but the man knows what he does.I like the X that is stylized as crosshairs on the cover. The Bad:There are so many things wrong with this book. I called it. It's neither surprising, not exciting nor fun nor unpredicta...

    An excellent start 0

My impressions:Loeb is at his best when writing Cable, which seems to be the case with this title. We all had trepidation about the revival of a character after such a recent death, especially a meaningful and significant death that actually affected the world that was left behind.Pros:The art in the book was very nicely done. It sets a nice foreboding tone and helps carry some of the emotions that the dialogue misses. Surprised at how well Cap was drawn. Loved the shrouded Cable at the beginnin...

Writer: Jeph Loeb Artist: Ed Mcguinness Color: Morry Hollowell Letterer: Albert Deschesne       So one things we can guarantee from Life is death and taxes. When Did Cable Become an Overly Elaborate Bond Villain? 2

Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness live up to expectations with Avengers: X-Sanction. Unfortunately, those expectations were that the duo would deliver a standard story heavy on action and flare while being light on substance and thought.Relative to the stories Loeb has produced lately, this is actually pretty good. There's really nothing painfully stupid in this issue. Oh, I know that is some seriously backhanded praise, but it's also my honest thought as I read through this. At no point in this issue...

    Avenegrs Sanction # 1 0

Oh boy, Jeph Loeb is back in the house. Will he make sense or just make some la la BS excuse. Will sorry to say this is BS. I was happy to see this done if properly done correctly. Now this is suppose to be Cable after he died in Second Coming. We seen Cable blow up into pieces. He died a old man, true he was Cyclops son. However while he was jumping through time he aging out his late 20’s to his early 40’s. So when he died it was his time. Now the art description when Cable died was Cable blowi...

    Hoping against Deus X-Machina 0

THE GOODWhen I read the 5-page preview for this issue that was included with most new Marvel books, I was excited to see a bunch of good guys fighting a bunch of bad guys. Those 5 pages were in this issue, so there was that. Then it diverged to a 1:1 between Cap and Cable (as depicted by the non-variant cover). The story was "ok", but at times was hard to follow. I thought it did serve the "setup" well for the series and ended with a pretty interesting cliffhanger. I know it was pretty interesti...

Cable Returns, and I'm Disappointed 0

Cable’s back from the dead, proving that Superhero’s can barely stay dead for more than two years. Nathan Askani’son has his sights set on Avengers and his first target is Captain America. How Cable survived his apparent death in Second Coming is revealed as well as his reason for fighting the Avengers. This really is a dire comic book. The dialogue has no character or emotion to it, giving off a very cold feel, there isn’t a lot of character aside from standard tropes such as Spider-Man cracking ...

Cable no esta muerto ... yay? 0

    Guns 0

There’s good dialog here both internal and external. The action is well written and well “choreographed”. It’s pretty believable. The whole thing about him KILLING each of the Avengers seems to be a misdirect. I don’t want to spoil anything, but let’s just say that the marketing hype may have over-promised there. Overall, this appears to be one of those ancient Greek stories where the Oracle tells you something, but it’s vague enough that you might end up causing what you are trying to prevent. ...

    What is this, I don't even 1

First of all, I will admit something that may completely invalidate the following review- I'm not male.I completely failed to comprehend this comic. That's not exactly true; I managed to read it without difficulty, and I was able to follow the events, but I couldn't grasp exactly why any of it should be happening. Cable's death in Second Coming was perfect- it happened at just the right moment, in just the right way, and illustrated perfectly by just the right artist. It was well thought out and...

    It's avengers hunting season 0

The Mini-series that promised the return of cable from the dead starts with a average but enjoyable issue as his first target is none other than the leader of the avengers the all mighty cap.The issue starts with some members of the avengers fighting a group of villains who escaped the raft and are easily taken care of. While the falcon who we haven’t seen in a while is shot down by an unkno-- okay its cable we all know that. He recalls his last moments before he died and ends up in the future w...

    Comic Review -- Avengers: X-Sanction #1: Midnight / Jeph Loeb, Ed 0

Originally posted on my blog, The Comics Cove, not too long ago...Avengers: X-Sanctions #1: MidnightThe cover for this issue isn't bad, but not great, either. I like the use of colors, and the depiction of Cable and Captain America, who have fought on the same side many times, locked in mortal combat is conceptually interesting, but the facial expressions ruin it for me. This is a vicious, balls-to-the-wall fight--there should be more expression on both their faces. Gritting teeth, eyes locked o...
